Just wondering where everyone puts their fans on this cooling pad since you can choose where they go (which i was un-aware of)

Is placing them directly under the fans on the bottom of my clevop180 the right way to go? i believe those fans are for the two 6990 GPUs, and the processor correct?

are all these fans +the ones on the cooler intakes?

I drilled some holes directly above my gpu and CPU then placed the 3 fans directly below those.
Works great, the max I can reach under 720/1850 is 81-83c. Average is 72c and on stock clocks it barely reaches 70c.
I think TC makes a difference as well, I'm using ICD.

I placed 1 fan over the battery to help cool it down as well.

I'm using the U2 on my w860cu, and after some experimenting I found that placing the fans under the intake vents over the ram/gpu was more effective than placing them directly over the fan intakes.

My wife uses the U2, but its not like she needs much with a np5160. The fans don't seem to cool as well as my Zalaman. Maybe the U3 is better, I don't know.

My setup uses one notebook usb port (maybe a second one to recharge my mouse when needed). The Zalman has two usb ports (one is use to connect the cooler to the notebook), I connect the keyboard to the extra usb gained from the cooler. The keyboard has the mouse dongle and the headset plugs (for mis and headset). That leaves me with alot of my usb ports unused.

    I got mine here:
Notepal U3 Notebook Cooler Fans - OEM Package - Cooler Master Store

I have a 8170 and I use an external keyboard and a mouse so that takes up two of my 4 usb slots. Luckily my gaming headset plugs into the audio ports. I ended up running the fans through a usb port that I plugged directly into it's own powersource and not through my laptop. I don't have the fans going all the time, mostly when I play games or know I will being doing heavy graphic or application work.

My only complaint is the speed of the fans of the U3. They seem slower compared to other coolers I have had
