    hi all :hi:

I recently bought a used p370em with 2X7970M . the problem is that the cossfire works only with the official driver provided by clevo , which is on the CD . the driver came out in 2012 ... :vbconfused:

if I try to install a more recent driver , the " amd crossfire "
rubric disappears from the CCC and the second 7970M appears as " off map " in the CCC and the second card does not work in game :vbmad:

in short, there is only one pilot who operates the crossfire , its the Clevo one's which is on the CD ( driver version 8.982.10.2000 )

i am on w7 64 bits pro, everything is up to date ( i guess  )

running out of idea, ty for help :vbwink:

Looks like the latest drivers available from Sager are also from Oct 2012. Notebook GPU drivers can be very finicky so that could be the best you'll be able to get.

    ty for answer

a friend managed to flash one card and now crossfire is fully working, i am onto fresh 15.5, witcher is running fine ^^

    [IMG] [IMG]

    but but but

i am having température issue in heavy game like Wither 3 where card are 100% used

first card is normal clevo 7970m, and fan is doing a going job, when card is going at 75 C°, the clevo card' fan go fast and manage to keep the card ok

problem is for second 7970m, wich is a Dell one . fan seems to not going any further than 50% of speed, so Dell' s 7970m temperature can exceeds 90 - 95 °c.

    any idea ?

    ty !

That's to be expected when flashing Dell to Clevo (EC mismatch). There's a way around this; use the Clevo card to control both fans. Only downside is that in non-CF both fans will run, even is the second gpu no longer needs cooling.

Here, even used Comic Sans to match the professional level of this schematic:

Of course, amps will be split between two fans, so the #1 connector will draw max. 1.0A instead of the previous 0.5A (when both at running at 100%). This is not a serious limitation; the IC in question is rated for max. 4.9W. Since 1.0A * 5V = 5W, this is only 2% short.

An alternative solution would be to clip VSET (Voltage set) from the 2nd gpu's fan IC and solder on a wire going to VSET of the master gpu's IC. That way you can leave all fan wires intact and power draw will remain divided:

All fired up, eh  ?

Just need a single wire and either a soldering iron or a simple screw terminal. The new wire is to bridge the distance between gpu fan #1 and gpu fan #2.

You don't mind the warranty bit, I'm wagering? Not an issue either way; can always buy a spare fan in case an rma is in order (save a damaged fan, of course).

Instead of such a drastic measure... FN + 1 will force fans to max for all three fans. FN + 1 again will return them to "auto". Simply turn on max fans when gaming (or all the time, if you want).

yea, i installed yesterday a prema bios. FN + 1 is working perfectly

but second card is still going like 85°c and first one 75°c

since both card are stock and with same vbios, i will go for a repast for second card. i hope it will fix température difference

The P370EM has worse slave GPU cooling. If you're maxing out at like 85c in games like The Witcher 3 then I think you're doing pretty well for AMD cards. You COULD get the SM or SM-A heatsinks, but all that will do is make your CPU a decent bit hotter. I'd suggest the max fans and a good repaste first.

i have seen that many people with p370EM and a 7970m crossfire are having, like me, big température on second card ( why only second card btw ? ^^ )

    can a 7970m handle 90°C during a 2-3 hours gaming session ?

i am really thinking about going to to an Asus rog , quiet and cool :/

I LITERALLY just said this in the last post.
Like I said. Either upgrade to the newer (and cooler) 970M or 980M cards (you WILL need Prema's system BIOS) or you repaste and clean out your fans etc and make sure it runs cooler.

Yes, your 7970Ms can handle 90c for extended periods, but I would not let it get higher if I were you. And finally, fn+1 is your friend.

No ASUS laptop will compete with your machine with two 970Ms or 980Ms in it.

Repaste/repad your cards.. 90C is not good...

If the fan is not getting up to speed you could try flashing the clevo 7970M vbios to the 2nd card.

    Hi all,

I have a clevo p370em with 2 hd7970m cf and I can't get them working properly with any drivers but the one I got when I bought the netbook.
I read all this thread, but I'm not sure I really understand the solution.
To mamito : You finally got them working. How did you do that ? Did you bring it to a professionnal ?
I also installed the PREMA bios for my clevo. What you guys mean when you say FN+1 ? (I don't know anything about PREMA)

    Thanks

FN+1 is a shortcut on the keyboard to run the fans at maximum speed. How are they not working properly?

If you want to sell the p370em slave fan and I will sell you my fan set, I have a p370sm. I wanted the fan set from your laptop model but cant find them on ebay or amazon.

I know the heatsinks are different but I believed the fans were the same?

    thanks for the help.
to Meaker: the problem was that the option to enable the crossfire was not available in the new CCC. Only available with the drivers from the install CD. So, only 1 card was "working".

I've been looking for a solution for a long time and I finally found one this weekend.
The problem was that the bios of one card was older than the other one.
The solution that worked for me was to flash the bios of the older GPU.
I used GPU Z to find the newest rom for my card and then I flashed it with atiwinflash in command line (because it did not work with GUI)

    Thanks

You could have used GPU-Z to save the bios from the card with the newer vbios and flash it onto the other one but I am glad it is working.
