What's the Intel Matrix Controller thing?
-
for the achi ...and if you have turbo mem...
-
Anyone get those 11.x Synaptic touchpad drivers to work on a M570RU w/ xp? No luck at all here
Uninstalled my existing ones, but the 11.x drivers sit on "Installing drivers" for about 10-15 mins then fail
-
thx for the list...
i'd rep you but apparently i did so recently and i've gotta find someone else to rep... =P -
is adding a link for the fan firmware (fn+3) update possible?
-
http://64.208.175.44/pages/notebooks/download.cfm?ProductType=5792 last thing on the page.
-
the synaptics works fine for me.. ive used in on xp and vista.. not sure why it is not working for you. try making sure the previous version is cleaned out, also when used on a toshiba i installed it on recently i had to manually set the scroll and tap functions in the synaptics menu.. they got wiped out for some reason after the new ones installed.
-
Intel doesn't seem to have that wireless driver on their website, so I'm a little curious about it. I did install it tho with no apparent issues tho I don't use wireless so I haven't really tested it. It's a heck of a lot better than that big driver the laptop comes with.
-
-
actually the one behind the one i linked is 11.xx.0 instead of 1.. the 11 series are the newest with the 10 series being older now..
the wifi driver works fine trust me.. it is a intel driver they dont update their web site as often as some may like, and yeah it works much better than the huge one that comes with it -
-
Whats the firmware for the fan? The BIOS is newer than mine since mines 7E not 8, but i dont want to void the warrenty or anything, but more importantly i dont want to turn my laptop into a large paperweight if its not compatible for some reason, so i dont think it would be wise for me to flash it.
Whats the firmware for the fan? I downloaded it and it appears to be an ISO? -
yes you need 2 different things. the bios is totally separate of the fan firmware. the bios current is 1.00.08 and the fan firmware is different.
the fan firmware will not change you bios version it simply updates the keyboard firmware to allow you to control the speed of the system fans at 3 different speeds this gets flashed along with the bios. and yes burn to a disc as a bootable iso then reboot and install. the sager file has no other way of using it since its locked
1.00.08 is FULLY compatable with any clevo 570ru this includes any re branded version you will not have a paperweight. follow my guide in my sig if you are unsure how to use the 1.00.08 bios for flashing -
Ok ill give it a go, do you need to update the Fan Firmware before the BIOS? Or does it not really matter? (Just wondering since the Fan Firmware version is older).
-
doesnt matter really but if it was me i would do the bios first then the fan firmware
-
Have a question about the Fan Firmware, it said that it needed the NP579x or something.... is that Sager's model of their Clevo unit?
Anyway i went ahead with it, and it was quick.... and when it finnished the system started beeping a lot and it didnt auto reset, which is about the time my heart droped through the floorbut a reset and the firmware is showing x.7sh (it was x.6). This is for the M57RU yeah though?
Also the 1.0.0.8 BIOS said it fixed the "White Border around POST" but i still get that? -
yeah it does that with the beeping lol. sorry forgot to tell you.. = )
yeah i dont know why some people still get the white border around the screen.
i know for a few people they re-flashed the .08 again after the first time and it fixed that. for others it didnt.. -
most of these drivers arent m570 specific rite? cuz i havent updated my D901c drivers other than my video. So the realtek, and intel chipsets work on this too rite?
-
no they are general drivers for any system that can use them
-
I installed the intel matrix controller v8.2.0.1001 driver from here, but for some reason it only gave me the Intel matrix controller program group, no turbo memory one. I went to get the Turbo Memory driver from Intels site and it tells me that a newer one is already installed on my system, yet i have no Intel Turbo Memory Console shown here:-
http://www.intel.com/support/chipsets/itm/sb/cs-026012.htm
Anyone know what the problem is? I think these drivers may not be "complete". -
the turbo mem is part of the matrix driver but the matrix driver does not have the console in it. what you need to do is uninstall the matrix driver. install the turbo mem one from intel web site this will give you the console. then reinstall this one and that will update everything
-
Ah ok, makes sense. Might want to put that on your guide btw just incase someone is doing a clean install like me
Thanks
-
ill update it. thanks
-
intel wifi and chipset are both updated today
-
Sorry if I missed this but are all these driver compatible with the 64 bit version of windows vista?
-
almost all have both versions listed at the download sites.. if not i can post the 64bit ones, lmk
-
http://www.realtek.com.tw/products/
I see all the files here: ftp://202.65.194.211/pc/audio/ but know not which file is which. -
ftp://202.65.194.211/pc/audio/Vista_R197.exe
its the same for both 32 and 64.. also this is the newest one. ill be updating the original post as that is 1.95 and this is 1.97 -
^^ works great i just installed and tested it. no issues so far. it will install 32 or 64 automatically you dont have to pick
-
Z what about the chipset drivers any other ones? Could you write down which drivers support 64 bit and which ones don't? Thanks!
-
yes ill do that when i get home.. im on my cell phone right now.. a bit hard to type so much on a sprint touch lol.. i miss my mogul

Help!!! I ran into a problem when I installed the 1.0.8 bios.....when my machine rebooted and I went into XP, I got a box up that I only had 9 days to activate my Windows XP (I did this when I first got my 5791 last September). I am also getting an error message about the bluetooth. When I contacted PowerNotebooks to see if they had a current bios for my system, the one that was sent to me (ECM57ru.7sa) said that it flashed and completed (although I had to power off manually). When it came back up, I am still seeing the Style Note logo and the bios is still 1.0.8. Is there any way to get my bio back to normal?
Thanks for all your help. -
why go back?? just re activate windows. no big deal.. if it doesnt do it online call the 800 number and use the automated telephone system.. for the bluetooth.. you prob need to go into the bios and change a couple settings for the bluetooth to work right. its not a big deal
in order to go back you have to burn the file (almost positive they sent you a iso file) to a disc then reboot. go into the bios change it to boot first from the cd drive then reboot again then reinstall it.. DO NOT DO IT FROM WITHIN WINDOWS.. -
Z,
I did reactivate XP....just was not sure what else had been modified....I was using the same method to try to revert back that I had used to update....using your usb boot method....Not really sure what extras are in the 1.0.8 bios over what I had originally, but would be willing to keep it if it was better....but I do want a way to put the Sager bmp image back in when it boots up instead of the style note bmp image. Do you have a way to do that? -
i can make a custom screen for you but no way to get the exact one that comes with the original one as sager will not give that one out. ill post a few different one up for you to see if you like. but it doesnt have to be the sager logo i can add your name or a pic you want or something like that instead lmk what you would like.
-
Z,
If you could build me one with the Sager logo that I was in your link, that would be awesome!!!
Thanks -
which version of the logo?? copy the pic and put it here as there were a few of them in that thread. ill make it for you no problem
-
How about the Matrix one....wp3_1600x12002.jpg...I could not upload the image to a website.
Thanks -
sure i think i already have that one ready hang on..
-
