Okay, after much deliberation and thinking I have decided to do the following.

I am going to purchase the d901c off of Rjtech with the following:

    1900x1200 screen

    dual 7950gtx video cards.

I can easily get and upgrade all of the other parts no prob.

My reason for getting the dual video cards is so I can have backup babies just incase my 8800's that I plan on getting, die or something like that.

It's always good to have a backup.

so I will be able to buy it after X-Mas.

I can put away 1000 bux a month, *i know it ain't much but I got rent and groceries to buy :p

So 500 bux every 2 weeks.

say if i start now I can have about lets say... enough to get the TOP at the end of JAN.

Hopefully all of the sh1t with the 8800's will be sorted out now.

    Nice plan. :)

I had to save up for 6 months for my notebook... as well as plan it out 1 year at the same time.... poor college student here. ;)

    Now I want a D900C.... for the 8800M :D

i was in college at one time in my life. good on ya for it.

I have been out of univ for 3 years now. 2.5 years doing jobs that did not take advantage of my qualifications.

and just 5 short months ago I got my dream job. 401k the works. and full medical.

I am just off of probation (at work) and made a permanent full time employee staus.

now I have to find something to spend my money on :D hahaha

    Or save it.

I just am in love with notebooks.

Like I said prior I have so much dell XPS / Inspiron parts I have enough to build more than 1 functional lappies.

I think I am gonna get a screen and put in on my other base and have 2 xps.

I was thinking of selling them but they do kick azz pretty good, and look kinda cool.
+ i prob wouldn't get that much for them anyways.

I will just add them to my collection.

I have been an old sager fellow.

my first sager was a 5680 with the 128mb 9600 pro turbo.

Still got it and working like a horse 3.2ghz P4. dual batteries they last 10 min now lol.

I overclocked my 7900gtx so much the other day, and was playing crysis @ 1680x1000 all medium 2x AA, and getting a good 30fps+ when all of a sudden my PSU smoked and my screen flickered then turned off.

    my PSU was melted.

    dang china rip-off.

prob was a cheapo 150w one. and my 7900gtx oc'd the way it was was pushing about 55w. I know not much but you should see how crysis is playing now.

Higher res and medium with 2x AA I get over 30fps.
    thanks for the reply gophn
