    hell ya.

I bet if I push it hardcore I could get 13k but I don't think I will push this one like I did with my 7900gtx. god rest her soul.

when you think about it some people with t7700 are getting 9.5k.

    so...

yes it makes up for some.. but the last 1k I got strickly from overclocking.

How about in games? Is the overclock noticeable in crysis, etc?

I tried crysis for 30 min. it was stable and I went from 27fps avg to 32-35fps avg @ 1680x1050 ALL HIGH.

I was trying this overclocks with a friend on the forum. we found that when flashing the card with higher clocks we have to up the voltage to stablaize. we don't know if nibitor is reading the clocks wrong and lowering the voltages when going between 0611 and 060c. that's what we think anyways because when we change the voltage it runs stable. with same temps as well.

    here cha go buddy eleron.

my max temp during 3dmark was 56 degrees idle temp is about 36. I run in max fan mode 24-7 now.

plus I am buying a new set of fans too for 165.00

I switched back to 169.44 and lost 100 marks.

i didn't like the clevo ones because powermizer is borked on them

Ok just played crysis for 15 min.

I avg between 30-38 fps @1680x1050 all high no tweaks.

    wicked cool!

I can realy notice the difference.

when I first started recovery and am staring at the body/rock foliage... etc i started off with about 28-32 fps..

when I looked the same place with OC I GET 38-39 fps.

my temps at idle are 35 and maxed during crysis and after peaked at 61.

does anyone know what is considered hot?

without fans at max, auto? dunno as I said before I don't ever hear them turn on. so the GPU goes up to 83.

    thanks

Daimi.. with Nibitor v3.8 when you open your bios file go to adv. Info TAB
and rename Device ID from 060C to 0611 or 0622 save and then reopen it
and you will be able to make some changes then turn back device id and save it

56C isn't hot at all for a laptop GPU under load. I can barley keep my desktop cards that cool under load! What speed were you running your fans?

Before BIOS flashing, I like to take a few precautions. I always down clock the system to default clocks and voltages, and always keep backups of original BIOSes on hand. Also, if a BIOS flash fails the checksum - do it again! I had that happen to one of my 2900XTs, and had to pull a backup card out of my bin to get video so I could reflash the card.

I got 3.8 and checked out voltages. My cards have 1v - 1.15v in .05v increments, which makes me wonder how similars these cards are.

    GPUz 0.1.7 Project
I put up a GPUz project of the cards in my main rig. Right now these are stock clocks, waiting to get some better coolers for them.

got 9.6k in 3Dmark06! with stock speeds and OC CPU i get 9700 :)

limiting factor is my ****ty t7500 CPU :(

another funny thing is that i can'T overclock my gpu when i run on OC'ed CPU :)

gives me freezer after 1 min :)

    any suggestions ?

    thx in advance

    i dont know about that..
but with voltage 1,05 you cant push the shaders more than 1350 thats why it freeze :) you can set your bios to Core 600 shaders 1350 and Memory 950 very stable and its very good overclock flash the card with these clocks and than will no more freeze :)

    it's a voltage thing.

you need to get a more powerfull adapter.

    that might help for sure.

I had the same prob with my m1710 when extensivlely overclocking.

I upgraded to a 150w and she was awesome.

ps... i melted my 120w. too much power. needed.

Ok, I have hit the perverbail roadblock per se..

I have found that the d901c's 8800m won't let you go past 1350 on the shader clock. no matter what voltage.

I have also found that the m1730's bios is very similar and as such runs on 1v for max on thier extra VID7

so that means that I don't exactly know why upping the voltage to 1.05 made a diff on the clevos 8800.

but it did. but further than 1350 indicates freezing and black screens of death. voltage or not.

it seems die cut or not it's locked @ 1350 which sucks.

I and another forum member have been gathering bios and breaking down/mapping the bioses for differences and trying to find out why it's clearly locked @1350.

    a little history lesson.

when the first batch of 8800 gtx/gts came out a while back they were all locked @ 1350 shaders.

this was from what I read a die cut limit and cannot be unlocked or anything.

so If ANYBODY could please post a bios dump from the m57ru 8800m that would be great.

or can post about going higher than 1350 on shaders stable on the 8800 with a m57ru that would be great too.

    please contribute to the scene.

    thanks

    dex

Hmm that´s bad if it´s true, in one way. On the other hand the 8800m GTX is a very good performer at stock clocks and doesn´t really need any overclocking. But I think it´s seems strange it would be locked to 1350 shaders. Maybe a precaution issue? Maybe a bios fix would come in handy here, Clevo might release a bios update to fix this?

True same here daimi, I run mine at 600/1500/900 now and it runs good, no need for me to overclock any higher since the performance gain is not much at all going to 625/1550/950. Though funny thing is heat doesn´t increase anything either so that´s good :)

Dami, did you change the volatages in 2 places to 1.05?

I see in your bios it shows 1.05 in extra and 1.05 in 3d.

I think that might be the limiting factor in mine as I am only using 1.05 in the extra.
