I need a service manual for my d901c d900c notebook.
I was working on my notebook last night and I bumped hard into the stool it was on and it went full force into a hardwood floor.
cracking the vent area in 3 places pushing the plastic upwards above where the keyboard is cuz of a blown screw and theres a dent on the back of lid too right at the top between the latches.
boy i'm a piece of work huh. not even have my laptop for 1 week and allready destroyed it.
I am soo pissed at my self right now.
I am totally screwed.
It powers on and everything but I am mad, I managed to get it back together but the screen is messed up where the hinges are on the right side you can see a wider space where the screen wires go under the hinge cover.. (don't know if thats normal, don't think so...)
there is a scratch that bothers the hell outa me on the back of lid between latches... the back of the laptop is scratched and cracked on the corners and sticks out.
I am totally funked.
I just placed an order for new palmrest and base 200 bux.
now I have no service manual to take the whole thing apart to rebuild.
it still works but I am totally pissed.
the thing above all else that sticks in my mind that pisses me off is the one little 2cm dent between the latches.
how the hell am I gonna fix that?????
I am a freak and a loser.

Cnat Eurocom send you a replacement?
-
Eurocom should have a hold of all Clevo service manuals.
-
oh man, that is completely heartbreaking dude.
I hope functionally it is ok, best of luck with that. -
it works fine from the tests i have done.
I asked eurocom for the service manual 3 times but totally get ignored. -
One more thing...
I would recommend to just order the entire casing since its cracked.
If you are uncomfortable on doing a case swap, it might just be worth it to send it to a Clevo service center (like Eurocom) to do it for you.
You have the guts that are still working, you just need a new casing... as it seems.
Sorry for the misfortune, just stay calm and re-act accordingly. -
I got new plastics to hopefully rebuild her to former glory.
i luv my notebook but now I feel like a wife beater. -
I ordered the palmrest and base -
I`d suggest getting a new case. You never know how bad the cracks can get in time dude.
Seriousely, get a new one, think of it as an reassurance .
Sorry about the incident,it`s sad to hear. But glad that it works still. Quite the beater, eh? -
isn't the palmrest and base the case?
or is there more to it? -
Oh, right, didn`t see that
Yes, that`s right, cause all that is left is the lid, and that is ok, isn`t it?
So yea, I guess you got it covered. -
actually the thing that pisses me off the most is the scratch on the top of the lid.
-
There are some substances that are known to fill a gap and make it appear as if there never was a crack there.
I`m not talking about glue. I just can`t remember the name right now. -
I just asked my rep if he could send me a new back and I will buy it
-
Good luck, and godspeed - just to find the silver lining tho, this thing must be built better than a Timex - takes a lickin and keeps on tickin.
-
just gonna get the plastics and lid and re-build it.
-
Well, already this rig has got a story! -
Man, unlucky. See the positive, you will learn the beast inside out. You could actually make a full review of the process with pictures.
Good luck in getting your machine up as soon as possible

PS: Ouch, my head hurts. Just by thinking it happened to me my legs tremble. -

Update:
I was just informed that I have ZERO warranty on any part of my laptop. because I dropped it.
even though "i'm picky" besides the tiny scratch on the top of the LCD panel you could not know it was dropped.
my roommate did a wonderful job recontructing the parts.
but, I have no Warranty.
I got the service manual From Eurocom. Displayed openly on the D901 Page, for anyone looking for it. that has to dIY like me.
I ordered 450 dollars worth of parts.
the base bottom, the top palmrest. the back LCD and the front Bezel.
so essesntially I have just Ordered a Full New set of plastics.
So my Brand New Baby Can look Brand New once again soon.
They said that they will ship the parts out today.
Luckily I think everything is working 100% except I notice I couldn't login windows last night. it would just sit for hours at the windows loading screen.
so I was forced to install a new OS. it's working now. I just hope that nothing is wrong with the motherboard. or I am really fricken Hooped.
good luck to me.
dex
that sux that I have no warranty. not even on any part inside. it. (what a RIPOFF!)
Glad I didn't go for the extended..... extended what?
that's exactly Why Dell is the BEST to buy from. If you break your laptop, they give you a new one. I would be happy just to get it fixed.
hell I would even pay to get it fixed. but still now If my hdd goes or my screen and not from me dropping it.. etc. it's got no warranty.
next laptop I get is going to be a DELL, and if I could go back 3 weeks. I would change my mind so fast. and not because it's better. it's not. really.
but It Has Piece of Mind.
I now am sick to my stomach with stress.
I paid nearly 4 "explitive" ing dollars for it. and now I am stuck without warranty or anything. and just spent another 500 dollars in parts.
and if My laptop dies in 3 days I am "explitive" ed.
acording to my avatar. I would rather go to PRISON of DELL because atleast in PRISON we get taken care of. 3 meals a day and alot more. -
When you re-installed the OS, did you reformat the drive? I doubt the motherboard took any damage, but the drive(s) may have taken some from the fall
In my experience, everything that works right on startup worked for at least 2 years - it would be really bad luck if (apart from the drive) anything that is usually under warranty failed (well, apart from the lcd ...)
And some people, as someone else mentioned here before me, consider battlescars beautiful (hey, j-lo married marc anthony ...)
As long as the thing runs and beats the 4-letter-word out of most other rigs, I would not worry too much. Keep the benchmarks coming -
Is this Eurocom's Policy, or Xoticpc's also?
-
I recommend to not just use the Vendor's warranty.
Remember you have other sources:
- credit card company
- insurance (home) -
Gophn`s idea isn`t a bad one. You might want to think about that Dex.
And dude ,don`t worry,it`s gonna` be allright in the end, warranty or not.
You`re the man -
Really bad luck. I hope everything works out.
-
Best of luck to you man! My screen was messed since i got it but im getting it repaired now, so i know slightly how it feels like... keep it coming
-
Did you manage to get the manual? I just found this link on the Clevo website. I hope it works.
http://www.clevo.com.tw/en/e-services/download.asp -
Dex, already got the Service Manual through Eurocom. -
ArmageddonAsh Mangekyo Sharingan
ah man that REALLY sucks, could we have some pics of it?
-
ironically it looks 100% fine.
I replaced the cdrom drive with a new one I had sitting around.
there is just one little knick on the top lid, we realigned all the cracks on the back, you wouldn't even know it was dropped at all.
atleast I got a new set of plastics coming.
and the new bios from EUROCOM lets me oc Past the 1350 shader barrier.
w00t
i'm back! -
does this look busted to you?
there is a little tiny knick on the top lid. tiny tiny knick. I overreacted.
and I could care less about the warranty. Yes I should have not told them the Truth but I am honest... my fault. if I would have known how Crappy Eurocom is with Warranties. my bad.
yes there is cracks on the back but you can't see them even with a magnifying glass! I re-aligned them. it's just the case.
plus I ordered new plastics so I'm good.
