well i got quoted, i think, an amazing price. i wa talking to john from eurocom, and he first price matched me from xotic at 2450$ CAD. i wanted a 2.53 GHz processor, but its more than 100$ more, so im going with the 2.4GHz, as i wont be doing any CPU intensive tasks.

    specs included;

    570Tu (5796)

    2.4GHz processor,
    WUXGA display,
    4GB RAM,
    160GB 7200rpm HD
    9800M GT
    no webcam
    no bluetooth
    55$ wifi.

he then brought it down to 2380$ CAD, with the processor downgrade. we got talking more and i finally said im going to do the build on xotic, convert it to canadian dollars and remove the webcam, bluetooth etc price.

    it then came to about 2100$, - 5% student discount = $1950 + taxes = $2220

he said that he was with me until the student discount, since they would be giving me almost 400 - 500$ CAD off.

he said he can do 2160$ + taxes and shipping, comming to about 2450$ CAD, taxed and shipped. im gonna try and get it for about 2400$. i think it comes to about 2550$ before 300$ tax and shipping. i think it would ship, at regular price, for more than 2800$ CAD with taxes.

so wat do you guys think?, should i persist in getting the 5% student discount, even thought that would mean im getting the laptop for about 700$ off. he said he cant do it, but i dont know yet.

I have no idea what notebook model this is for. I assume an NP9262, because that's a bad deal for anything else. I also wasn't aware that you could remove the built-in webcam or bluetooth from any of the clevo models?

    Don't trust eurocom !!!
They increase their price every week!!!
    They never replied to emails!!!
They should remove their name from title!

    ^ ^ someone had a bad experience.

Yea you should go for the student discount , obviously if your a student. If you only had to pay $1950 with discount and he told you $2160 ... at that point you should have haggled for ~$2050

Just FYI. I got mine from Xotic PC, ended up at $2500 to my door and I have the bluetooth, webcam and turbo memory (I only got 2 gigs of ram because it's cheaper to upgrade after) and I'm in Ontario.

They also told me they wouldn't price match when I called Eurocom up, said their student discount was 2% and didn't reply to my E-mail.

its actually for a 5796 (570Tu) sorry i didnt mention that.

i also talked to john, which is very helpful. he replies to my emails and i talk to him on the phone. so i should get the student discount?

i know this seems like alot, but because of the canadian dollar being so low, a price math from xotic, it doesnt seems that much. so its pretty much like 2400$ even, shipped and taxed.

and i did it exactly as xoticpc has priced it. i built it on xotic's site, converted it to canadian dollars and removed the prices of the webcam and bluetooth thats on eurocoms site (79$ and 49$) and downgraded the wireless for40$.
