delayed sager notebooks

Did anyone else have their sager notebooks delayed this week because they ran out of intel wifi cards. Sounds kinda lame. Or is my reseller screwing around with me?

 

This is true, we had to tell some customers the same thing. There is a market shortage on intel wireless.

 

Looks like I ordered mine at just the right time then,

 

I ordered my 5760 from Laptopdiscounts and was told expected ship date of 7/11/06 ... (yesterday). I emailed Mathew today after reading what was said on here about the lack of wireless intel cards and he confirmed that my order was on delay due to that same issue. He said sager plans on gettin the cards on friday, and that my 5760 should be sent out on Monday 7/16/06.
Im in alaska, so even with my second day air, i wont get it untill MABEY thursday or friday. Bleh.

Same exact expected ship date, same dealer, same 7/16, only i get 3rd day, but thats ok, I am in Massachusetts.

 

Well... Im in ketchikan Alaska... so, even with 3rd day.. you will get yours before me. W00t for you =)

Ya know.. Im kinda wondering... since the core 2 duo is due out for desktops on the 27th... I wonder how far along the merom chips will be offered in August.... since Im waiting till the 16th for my 5760 to ship, wont get it for 4 days after is ships or so.. that makes it the 20th or about that. What if the merom chips were available the .. say 1st of August. Id wait a whole 10 more days to order it.. Id wait a few more days to ship it. If i would have had my 5760 now, canceling my order and waiting wouldnt be an option.. I would be a happy camper, playin BF2 or whatever game i choose.. but since im not playing it, I have time to sit and think... HMMMmmmm Its got me thinking. Cancel my order, order when merom is available. What.... I will be waiting for 2 weeks before i finaly get my 5760 if keep my current order for my laptop, whats another 2 weeks maybe 3... . Yea yea, id spend more money for the merom, but Id have a better laptop wouldnt I? What if the merom wasnt available till August 27th :O Then I would have waited forever for my 5760... lol Oh how I wish i allready had my 5760 :| Then I wouldnt be thinkin about all this.
Id like imput folks Im obviously not decided either way on what route to take.

 

I don't think Merom will be available that soon after Conroe. But I don't really know Intel roadmap. It could be more like a couple months than a couple weeks.

 

um wow pdxlou, we think alike, lol, i was thinking the same exact thing about merom! From the notebookreview home page news link it says we are suppose to see offical benchmark scores for duo core 2 today.

So i wanted to take a look at that first. I wonder which site would have it!

 

I ordered mine just in time as well then. My order was shipped the 11th. I have the cheapest shipping though. =/ 3-5 day. UPS.com says they're milking that time frame and I'm supposed to recieve it Monday the 17th.

 

well dont complain, ours is getting shipped out the 17th, lol, we'll be luck to have it by the end of that week if not the next, while ur gonna be enjoying it for a week already, lol!!

I got good news, i called sager and they said they got the intel wifi cards in already and they are currently working on backorders. So if we are lucky we should have ours shipped today if not friday, though ups doesnt ship sat and sun. So if its today then we get ours like monday or tuesday. Woot!!!

I just got off the phone with discountlaptops and confirmed that mine is getting shipped out today. Do the same thing so you dont die of anxiety.

I would, but Iv sent mathew like 22342342342 emails in the past few days. It would be NICE if mine was sent out today, then id have it at least on one of my days off here (Mon,Tue). Just for asking sakes, rubiks when did you place your order? Placed mine with mathew on 7/7/06.

Also. the 5760 is UPGRADABLE to Merom with no BIOS update needed.
So you can get what you want/need now, and then upgrade to a spiffy merom chip next year when the prices have dropped and any kinks are worked out.

Well.. im thinkin.... Tuesday, or Wednesday for delivery. Why O WHY cant i have 2 day delivery here in the boonies? It allways seems as if when i order stuff.. UPS or FedEx the company mails it out on a thursday, gets someplace on friday and then sits 2 whole days for the weekend before it moves again.... the weekend will DRAG on by now.
