I am wondering if anyone else has experienced a delay with the Intel® X9000. I ordered the Np5793 about 4 weeks ago and i still am waiting to get it. Iv been waiting for about 3 weeks for the processor (the rest of the laptop is full built and tested). When i talk to Xoticpc they tell me that Intel will not communicate with them and that they don't have an estimated date when they will be in. They gave me the option to downgrade but i would rather not.
I am wondering if anyone else is encountering this problem.
Also I was told when the QX9300 comes out i can upgrade if they still don't have the X9000.
Does anyone know if they have cut production of the X9000 in preparation for the QX9300 release.

That seems highly unlikely as the M1730, M15,17x both utilize the xtreme processor as an option. Also from what i've heard the QX9300 wont be coming out for months and may not even be supported on the 5793. IT seems really strange that you have this delay, might want to call Sager directly as they build laptops an ship it from their facilities to see what is up, maybe it is something wrong at their end some communication issue?

At this time unfortunately Sager is experiencing problems with obtaining the X9000.
I don't know if it has to do with the new processors coming out or just shortages on them at this time. They are working on getting more in, but no confirmed arrival date yet.

Ah that sucks, darn them Montevinas!!

It seems a bad moment for Sager to obtain X9000 right now, $827/ea for quantity buy of 1000.
-
Could you just buy your own retail x9000 mail it over to sager an have them install it?
-
I would be willing to buy one and send it to them to install but after all the shipping time and installation it would be another 2 weeks.
Also getting the money back would take about a week. -
see if you can get a cresit for the chip itself maybe then send them one. they are pretty available on ebay and other places.. ?? just a thought

So wait, someone is claiming that the QX9300 is going to go into the 5793. I thought that the new Penryn cpu's weren't supposed to be backward compatible with the P965 chipsets, and even if they were they would be limited to 800mhz fsb (natively) wouldn't they?
That sounds crazier than JUST ABOUT anything PCMW has put out there (the only exception being the option to upgrade your M860TU to the Nehalem platform when it is released). -
no it was a mistake that he posted that. The qx9300 will be only for the m570tu not the m570ru
delays on the intel® X9000
