I'm really tired of using the touchpad and having it simulate a mouse click all the time. How do I turn that off?

On the default Microsoft driver, you cannot turn it off. If you use a different driver such as the one that comes with your driver disc, then you can.

You can usually disable in the properties of your touchpad. What machine do you have?

Sager 8662. Windows 7 loaded.... love the laptop, but HATE the heat on the palmrest. Uggg.

If there's a particular driver I need for the trackpad, please let me know.

you should already have the synaptic drivers installed from the driver disk (if you don't do that now).

Just go to Control Panel -> Mouse -> Device Settings

From there you can adjust the pressure required to activate the pad/clicking.
