    Hi guys,
I just got my new p157sm (4900mq, GTX 780m), yesterday, and I installed windows 8.1, but I found that I can NOT adjust the brightness anyway, I did install the newest drivers for both intel 4600 and NVidia 780, not sure what is the problem, if anybody has some solution here please tell me :) thanks!

It usually is a driver issue. I'd stick with 8 for now.

Could it be the autobrightness feature? If not related to a feature in the power options, then I agree in that it's probably a driver issue.

I did disabled the autobrightness, but I still have this issue, so most likely the issue is related to driver.

Problem solved - just reinstalled the whole windows 8.1 and ask windows to find the drivers online (it works for most of the hardware include 4600 and 780 and intel wireless plus network card) , now everything works perfect!

I was gonna tell you to look in the BIOS and make sure the OS is set to Windows 8. But good you got it sorted now via software drivers.
