When you enter the BIOS upon boot up, across the top it should say:

MAIN ADVANCED SECURITY TPM STATE BOOT EXIT

    What do you see?

Just for grins, look at the pics of the BIOS screens in the user manual that came with the 5791. Does the TPM STATE appear in the pics in the manual?

    theorist,

What version of the BIOS do you have on the machine? Maybe you're running a different version than the rest of us?

I have a 5790, not sure about the BIOS, but it doesn't have TPM either :)
Not that it matters: I don't have the FPR anyway :p

That's the first time I've heard of that BIOS version. Has Clevo released an update? Perhaps there's a bug in that BIOS version related to the TPM module. I can't say I've ever used the TPM module on mine to verify it, but it appears to be there.

I can't see this fingerprint option or anything related to it (or TPM) on Eurocom's site. How come?

no tpm here either. sager said it is no longer on these systems, they said none of them come with it any more that is the 570ru or 5791..i spoke with them today..and the fingerprint reader will work fine without it according to them as well..

Well the TPM is a nice thing. It's improving security. I don't see why they would take it off.
    It's probably a very heavy component :D.
