ive hit a brick wall at the minute. Im trying to connect laptop to my tv via hdmi.
Ive narrowed it down that its a driver issue as the minute i uninstall it the tv displays whatever is on my laptop. ive installed lastest drivers, changed screen resolution etc. but still get a black screen after the start up on windows7 (64bit)
If anyone has any info or point me in the right direction i would greatly appreciate it

    Which model?

On EM/SM machines the HDMI is wired through iGPU.

Have you right clicked the desktop and set display to come on tv? I have a 7970m in a P150em and hdmi out works fine.

its the p170hm (its the model before they released the light up keyboard)
i plugged in hdmi from laptop to tv. switched the laptop on, the tv sees that and loads the startup screen, then the minute it gets to the windows screen the tv displays a no signal on it. ive changed the resolution and still nothing. pressed the start key+p to extend and duplicate laptop screen.
i uninstalled the 7970m drivers and it then worked completely fine. installed the 14.2 beta drivers and im back to square 1 again.
ive gone on the desktop and right clicked it but no option to display on tv from what i can see

have you tried the function key shortcut? not 'win + p' -- e.g. it's 'fn + F7' on the EM series. the connection's obviously fine if the startup screen is displayed.

yeah tried that. when all plugged in. tried fn and f7 together.
gotta be a driver as the i uninstalled the amd ccc it works fine after that. then when i install the 7970m drivers it goes back to a black screen on the tv

The hdmi on the EM/SM works via the intel GPU. It might be that for you as well.
Either way, your problem seems to be with the settings. You need to open up the display settings and set it to clone or whatever you prefer. Try using both the intel settings and the one in the CCC.
I am pretty sure your problem will be solved.
