I know the clevo/sagers can play CDs without booting, but will they play dvds also? In particular, the 5720 model.
Do they have the "media only" option, or do you have to boot fully into windows to play DVDs? Battery life much improves if you don't have to boot into windows every time.

Some HPs have that feature and they do play DVDs.

I'm aware of that. I'm asking about the Clevos.

No, they just have the option to play CDs without booting up (at least, the 5320 and 5720 are like this). A bit disappointing for me personally, 'cause I have no need to play a CD without booting my lappy, but I WOULD have need to watch a DVD without booting up. ::shrug:: Oh well, though!

What?! 5720 cant play DVDs from the media only OS? I was thinking surely it could! That's a true shame!

It's not really a big feature, I wouldn't let it be a deal breaker. I can see it being useful more on a 12-14" machine where it's nice to quick boot it up and watch a movie, but on a 17", it's not really practical.

The NP-5720 can play CD's only without booting up as posted.
