    Hi,

before all, sorry for my bad langage, i do my best.

I would like to know if someone had any experience with egpu on Clevo P150HM. There is my config :

    Clevo P150HM
    i7 2820QM
    HD 6990M
    8Gb ram

My first plan was sell my HD 6990M, use my intel igpu and an egpu for gaming but optimus doesn't supported on my laptop and i don't know what to do.

Maybe i can sell my 6990m for an better graphic card, but wich one ? 7970m ? GTX 680M ? Other ? I don't know if all graphic card are compatible with my laptop.

Had you any advice to provide ?

    thanks for advance.

    cdt.

Your notebook doens't have optimus to my knowledge, so there is no interegrated GPU for you.

If I remember correcly your notebook is compatible up to the HD 7970M / 680M without heatsink mods but with Heatsink mods you can go up to GTX 9xx series I think, not entirely sure on this one tho. Anything newer than Maxwell would not work due to lack of EDP or optimus.

Don't remove your dgpu, your laptop won't work without it. You are right, no optimus, the igpu is not connected. 7970m/680m max, no 7/8/9/10 series.

As for egpu have a look in the mega thread here on nbr. I think from years ago when I looked at it, someone had done a x2 implementation.

    Hi, thanks for you're awnser.

Heatskin mod for implement serie 9xx... I've search i don't see something like that. Did you say that because you've read that or because you think it's possible ?

Yes my computer don't boot if i remove my dgpu... I gonna search for egpu with p150hm, somebody had tell me the same thing as you so egpu solution for p150hm should be exist.

The later heatsinks still fit IIRC its down to VBIOS/BIOS issues as to what works.

Hi sorry for the long reply.

Thank you for your answer, I do not know what it is that "IIRC", for me your post mean that the last heatskinks still does not solve because of problems with VBIOS / BIOS.

Sorry for my difficulties to understand
