I was wondering if Sager or any other company that offered the NP5793 or NP9260 have some sort of financial or monthly payment plans for students like myself? If so where can i go. the best place for for a Sager Ive found is at www.xoticpc.com but I haven't been able to get a hold of them about that, nor have been able to find a dealer that did offer it.

It would best to contact the resellers/sager about that. Justin@Xoticpc and Paladin44 (PNB) both are active members of this thread so shoot them a pm or get ahold of them.

for financing, most of these vendors are small, so do not have financing, but...

I would strongly recommend to order the notebook that you want with a credit card that has a low APR or promotional deal (0% APR for a year, no payments for 12 months, etc...). Then you can pay it back at your leisure without having to worry too much about the interest. And you can transfer the balance from one card to another if the promotion ends on the first. :)

    Check out http://www.cardratings.com/

Its a great source to find the right credit card for you... regardless about which ever kind of credit you have.

I would like to not do that since already have a credit card and that one I only use for my tuition, since we have to make online payments with them. Pity i cant find anyone that does the same thing dell does... this sucks Ive been really keeping my ee on that sager for animation class. plus i was hoping the price would go down once the Clevo M860TU enters the market.

Contact sager or one of the resellers, they will be probably able to give you a definite answer. Calling sager would give you a better chance i guess since they are big company, whereas Xotic and PNB are resellers.

Actually what Dell offers is a credit card, one with very high a APR (around 18%) at that. The only thing is that you don't get the plastic.

Its actually easy to buy a notebook through credit cards.

My old friend bought a $3000 Sager with a credit card, and paid 0% APR over a year or so.... he just switched the balance from one promotional APR card to another... which means he paid no interest in the end... which rocks. :)

You just need a little effort to save money.

I am so sorry but I am not aware of any custom builder, including Sager or any of their resellers, that offers financing. :nah:

We are custom builders, not bankers, so the advice you are getting here is good. Either go to your bank, or use a credit card for payment.

Unless he paid a transfer fee to move the balance - in which case he probably paid about 3% simple interest (unless the fee was capped at a certain $$ amount). :D

He made sure to transfer the balance over to a new card that did not charge a transfer fee. :)

I guess that is why he went into financing. ;)
