    fingerprint sensor is burning in Sager 2096/ Compal JHL 90 after Waterfall

    today some water drops fall on my Touchpad and fingerprint sensor and after that i ve noticed extreme temp. of fingerprintsensor :mad: :mad: :mad:
    i ve dissembled it without change!!!

    did you immediately turn it off and not use it for 24 hours or did you use a tissue and just wipe off the water on top and then continue using it.

    it could well of damaged something inside and if so you are risking serious damage to yourself and your computer (i have no idea what sort of voltage goes through the finger scanner but if its getting that hot something is not good).

    As said let it dry out completely before use, shorting components can take out other around them.

    I dont think the drivers would have had anything to do with the lower temps. Any residual water that was still there probably dried up a bit.

    Agreed. If water got on the sensor or the circuit board, it needs time to dry thoroughly. It's a good thing you didn't short it.

    Touchpad+sensor are still hot and it was spill water few drops ......not sure what to do!!!
    by the way its Prostar since 2008 :)

    You can either look to replace the fingerprint sensor PCB if you can find it or the top plastics which it is on. Talk to your reseller and they can guide you on what parts can be obtained.

    If need be, it can come in for service. That area typically does not get very hot, so something does not sound right.

    wow it was only software issue! after the last windows 8.1 update turn back normal!
