    Hey everybody!

Just ordered my first Laptop ever owned and was wondering if it was needed to buy a notebook cooler.

    Congratulations!

If you are pushing the device at high temperatures or for long periods of time in general use, Notebook Coolers can be a good idea to keep the device temperature down, yes.

Thanks! I will be playing some games occasionally but I'll probably get one for my desk just to be extra safe :)

I found every gaming notebook I have owned could benefit from a cooler. Perhaps in the near future when they shrink the dies even more and cooling is no longer an issue, we wont need any external coolers anymore. I got a cooler with some extra USB posts because thats one thing laptops can always use more of.

I wouldn't bother with a cooler if you just plan to use it at your desk. Prop up the back of the laptop with something and you'll probably get temperatures that are just as good as if you'd used a cooler.

Once you get your machine, play some games on it and monitor temperatures. The P150HM has great cooling, so you may not even need to bother with an external cooler anyway.

If you do opt for a cooling pad, look into the Cooler Master U2 on Amazon. I have the larger model, the U3, and it's awesome. Lightweight, fits my 18.4" monster, and keeps temps down. :D

CoolerMaster U2 would be excellent for your needs. It's only what, 30 dollars? Invest in some protection for your own safety.
