I just wanted to let everyone know that i got my M860tu from kobalt.
im working on a review, but i thouht i would just let people know that they have begun to ship the laptop.

So far, i have not had any noticable heat from the bottom right area and the keyboard is stable and works fine.

The screen is quite bright by my standards with no grainyness and NO dead pixels.
I actuall thought it would feel heavier. i love this thing.
Its the sexiest laptop i have ever seen. the finish is amazing and it is built like a rock.

stay tuned in a few days to a week for my ful review complete with videos and loads of pics.

Of course they all are. You only needed someone say "fire" for everyone start shouting and freaking around! (me included :)... Of course some users that have had their HDD at 70ºC might have some reasons to be worried).

    And... pictures!? ;)

I've sent a mail to them complaining i'll see what the reply is like, if i don';t like the reply i will be doing so. The only reason i havn't so far is that kobalt is a bit more expensive and has 2 yrs less warranty, will have to talk to neil before i order.

@Deathknigh- I ordered from Kobalt myself. Obviously I looked at Rock for price comparison. And let me tell you that, with the same basic specs (P9500, 2GB RAM, 9800GT), Rock was much more expensive (but... I only got one year warranty warranty, which I will upgrade for under £100 in the near future).

I went for the t9400 which is cheaper on rock, and yes the chances are very high that i will be canceling with them and getting from kobalt. Really not happy with rock CS

    Two owners so far... :)
How are things shapping up for you both? Lucky guys... :)

@Forell- I didn't know Kobalt as well, but as it seems, it is quite a reputed (is that how you write it???) company and their CS is really as good as it comes (well... I haven't dealt with them so much, but for the experience I had so far... ;))

as milcs has said, i have only just heard of them myself but their reputation stands out above the rest. and its not everyday you ring up for advice and you get to talk to the managing director.

might be why me and milcs have both ordered the Nexus.
check out the website and forum below.

Well, I got mine and haven't had any problems (yet=p), and I was afraid it would come with dead or stuck pixels, and I think it is perfect (from what my eyes can see lol). I was going to try out some games but my other computer won't let me transfers them thru lan cable =(.

just thinking of some videos to add to this and am getting in some benchmarks from crysis. should have quite of the review ready for tomorow.

oh, and milks, reputed is more of a word to use for a company that has a reputation for being very bad and shady.

Oh, I see... :) Speaking the Queen's English is rather difficult, I must say! :)
So it's not reputed... Kobalt is simply AMAZING. I mean, coming from a CS from AW (which is not bad... is just... a CS), to a CS like Kobalt is like... Uauuuuuu!
An approximate comparison is the following... It's like a big Tesco where you are one more, to the local producer, that knows you by your name and knows what you like and gets you the best produce. :)

Helios... hurry up man! You are killing me! ;)

    after me :D :p
milcs ordered a couple of days before me and i think the turnaround is roughly 10-14 days.

i could always go and pick it up so save on 2 day delivery.

CPU buzzing/whining noise can be remedied easily:

    download RMClock:
    http://cpu.rightmark.org/products/rmclock.shtml

Vista users: make sure to run as Administrator and maybe disable UAC.

Make sure to check "Run HLT Command when OS is idle (restart required)" under the "Management" file.

also try to disable "C4 power state mode"

Are people in the US also affected by this?

Im just having such dificulty finding problems with this laptop that im mentioning it.
To put it into perspective, my notebook cooler is louder than it and sometimes the sounds just goes away. Depends on what im doing.
