Hi, does anybody know how to get the keyboard off the p170sm? I've seem how to do it several times but its always some guy just taking the screws off and casually pulling the keyboard out in 1 second. When I try to do the same thing the keyboard is really tight in there and attempting to lever it causes the keys and the board to start to bend and look like they might snap off.

Have you watched the disassembly vids on YT? is there anything different about your keyboard? shouldnt take too much grunt, pry plastic panel off, 5 screws, lift up from that side, pull slightly to get clearance on the tabs that extend under the case near the bottom (palmrest) side, take it slow flipping it so you don't yank on the ribbons then you disconnect them

Some laptop models have keyboards that are really wedged in there with tabs on both sides and you do need to scarily bend them to get them out but I don't think any of the P170 models work like that. My P870 has some decent magnet strips attaching it you actually need to stab the back of the keyboard forcefully with a thin screwdriver through a hole to get it off, that's scary!
