    Hi guys,

Long time reading first time poster here :)

I have been reading these forums for quite some time for information as there seems to be answers for practically everything here.

Anyways my problem is that my P370EM notebook recently died on me, leaving me with the following:

    CPU: 3610qm
    GPU1: Nvidia GTX 680M clevo 4GB
    GPU2: NVIDIA GTX 680M clevo 4GB
    SSD1: Intel 520 180GB
    SSD2: Intel 520 180GB
    HDD1: WD blue 1TB
    MSata1: Intel 525 180GB
    Wlan: Intel 7260 + BT
    RAM: 2x4GB Samsung modules

Not sure what else really, however I pretty much have everything needed to build an operational barebone.

What I am hoping for is some sugfestions in regards to where I can get a good Pxx0EM barebone, I dont really mind which one even if it means I can only use one of my 680s as they are both really good overclockers and I wint have any issues with only one. I am also fihappy with MSI barebones too or any that are compatible with my compinents really.

I reside in AU so would prefer to buy one here due to high freight costs, low exchange rate etc etc. I am not completely against importing though.

I have already tried the following:
    Metabox
    Logicalblueone

both either dont have any left or are charging almost 900 for a used one that has damages. So any help would be much appreciated. Thanks guys.

You're left with little options. Both of those sites charge extremely high prices for anything. The problem with buying barebones are that:
    1. They are not in very high demand
    2. You won't expect super cheap prices because the motherboard itself costs around 400 dollars.

I'm in the same situation. The motherboard on my Clevo P151HM1 (Sager NP8130) was dead a few days ago. I have:
    CPU: i7 2620M
    GPU: GTX460M
    RAM: 4x4GB :)

Clevo barebone or exact motherboard are quite rare on eBay and are sold with a high price.

An alternative I'm thinking of (not sure if it works) is to bring the CPU, GPU, RAM to models like Asus or MSI. My motherboard chipset is Intel HM67, so the another brand's barebone as long as it has the same chipset the CPU should have no problem.

The GPU leaves a question whether it will fit into the motherboard of Asus or MSI laptops. Does anyone try this before?

The gpu will fit into an MSI gt60 etc fine, though you will need to mod the .inf files. At least thats how it was the last time I did it.

The 2620m will be fine in the hm77 chipsets, I have tried an i5-2520m in a P150EM with the exact same chipset. Though I would still suggest reading through some guides if you are unfamiliar with the process.

As for the GTX 460m in any Asus notebook, well unfortunately the answer is no. It will not be compatible, as Asus uses a different design.

Though why not just get a new Laptop? As your components do seem rather dated and their performance isnt really worth it to go and pay for a new barebone.

Do you know what is broken on your P370EM? You might be better off selling the working parts and buying a new laptop. That model is old enough that finding a barebones kit will be hard. But, you might be able to get good money for your working parts.

The good thing about mobile components especially the GPU is that they don't depreciate dramatically over time. I can still find 680ms on eBay selling at 400/500 dollars.

Yeah, I have been considering just selling yhem, however unfortunately it is just too risky to sell on eBay, as you never know how experienced they etc.

Well at the moment, I am just waiting on the placed I purchased a barebone to refund my payment, as it was DOA. If all goes well I may be putting the GPUs into a lovely looking 18xr2, though I have never been a fan of their designs at all due to them looking like something that was designed for a small child. Their cooling performance etc speaks for themselfs though.

Oh and I am not sure what is wrong with thep motherboard, the only reason I even knew was because I tested all my components in a friends unit.

Even if the motherboard is bad, you could still try to sell the other parts of the chassis (lcd, keyboard, top case, bottom case, etc). There are always risks on ebay and the like, but for the chassis parts, it's not like you have anything to lose.

I have my feedback to lose :( there are some nuts out there who cannot be reasoned with. Besides, I can judt give them to a friend for spares when any of theirs breaks.

Shipping to australia from the UK is fairly cheap. Just priced up sending my barebones to a possible buyer in Australia and its only £18.00 for 10kg and a 3 - 4 day service. Pretty cheap if you ask me lol.
