    No its not possible, a 460 maybe, but if you have twin 280's there really isnt much difference

    i got a m980nu here sitting next to me i can pop in a 485m and confirm if it is possible, but do i want to don't know...







    edit: off the bat i'm going to assume it is, but you might have to run 1 slot as i experiencing problems running 2 ram slots with 1 485m, haven't confirmed density yet, and you'd most likely be cpu bottle necked, 485m shines in those advanced shader and dx10-11 type of games with phsyx

    I urge you to just pop it in and see if it boots to BIOS. Thats all I want to know.

    i have a feeling it would work, just like i knew the 485m would work in my x8100, haven't tested though, and finding out just now that the 180hm also uses same power supply, 2 480m's might even work, but you'd be seriously cpu bottle necked.

    You'd need to use modded .inf drivers and i'm fairly certain you'll have the 1 slot ram issue

    I mean, I really don't have high hopes for it working.
    The m980nu is an entirely different nvidia chipset.

    Why don't you just try it? Maybe it WONT have the 1 ram slot issue, and BTW a qx9300 @ 3.6ghz+ is not so bad.

    My reason for wanting to know this isn't just to have an awesome laptop with 480m SLI or anything, its that right now, we don't know if its capable of supporting ANY Nvidia 400 series at all. And we're pretty sure it wont support ATI cards in CF, so a LOT of people have been wondering about the upgradeability of this machine...

    i might give it a try some time in the week, i'm fairly certain it will work, it's all about bios support is all, device id and recognition that's it. if sli can be enabled i wouldn't doubt 485m sli, but you'd be seriously bottlenecked, and overclocking the cpu will put you past the threshold

    my cpu its q9200 and 8gb of ram 1333mhz, I see some cheaper card X648M on ebay, its possible remove the heatsink and use? i have the sli cable and i can buy the heatsink w/fan
