i might got a problem with slave 480m(vantage gpu tests crashed when SLI enabled)
and its temp is higher than the master 480m about 12c when playing heavy SLI games like crysis...metro 2033......
do the both card in SLI have same BIOS?(not a master BIOS and a slave BIOS, just the same BIOS)
wondering if i can swap it to master slot and test it
-
The master card will always be hotter than the slave card. That is normal. Its because multi GPU solutions will never split work load exactly 50:50 and the master card will do the coordination.

Speedy Gonzalez Xtreme Notebook Speeder!
yes both cards has the same bios did you try different drivers ?
-
see others user's slave cards are higher too, around 2~5c but mine 10~12c -
257.30 259.51 263.06modded+reinstall vantage all no luck
the water in gpu test1 splashing upside down+flicking
the blue flame of the space craft in gpu test2 go infront of the space craft
but 3d06 crysis farcry2 gta4 metro all good with SLI......................strange -

I experience some weird flickering on vantage with the 460's too but not all the time so i think this is driver related but you can try 265.90 from laptopvideo2go those work better with all the 400 series cards http://forums.laptopvideo2go.com/topic/27639-nvidia-driver-26590-whql-quadro/

game tests(applied mx3 for a week)
gpu1 is slave(the one close to power adaptor hub)
gpu2 is master(working while SLI disabled)
and vantage crashing

Mid 80s seem a bit high for a GTX 480M SLi with that kind of cooling, are you sure the themal paste was applyied properly? -
reinstalled os for 3 times = =
try and try........
finally!
the problem is 3dmark 11!!!
clean install win7 64 OEM + 265.77 x64 + vantage = ok
as soon as install 11(havent run it yet) then vantage goes wrong.......
3dm11 V1.00 & V1.01 both problem too
anyone have this problem too?
the high temp was bcz thermal paste not enough......but that is enough for desktop though
