IS there a way to cool it? like some sort of rubber pad just for that? i heard that some have issues, and i just want to make sure i don't get mine messed up from the heat. would something like this work putting it on the bottom? or would that screw up how the fans are supposed to work?

i mean, other than the bottom fan. what exactly is the heat problem with the hard drives?
-
what temps are you getting now Melinapayne?
-
i don't have the computer YET, i just want to know what preventative measures i can take if i end up having a problem. I heard there was a heat problem with this certain model
-
you might not have the issue.
tell us when you get it, and monitor your HDD's temp.
if its under 60C you are fine. -
I have found that 7200 RPM drives run cooler than 5400 rpm drives in my NP8662 but that is just my personal experience.

I personally have a 7200 rpm drive in my old 5791. It's right under the right palm rest and I can feel it's warmth as I'm typing this. -
My 7200.4 500gb is running much cooler than my old 5400.4 250gb.

i have an ssd in my 8662, but with HDTune no temps are registering...what's the deal?
