Ok so can someone please help me with the following:

    should i get 3 320 7200 or 3 320 5400 or 3 128 ocz core SSD

I dont really know the difference frankly compared to the SSD's. I have read on the board there is not much of a difference between the 5400 or 7200 but are the SSD's worth the extra money?

Also seems there are 3 different options for 3 drives and I really dont know the pros and cons of each so if someone could explain the difference between Raid 5 Raid 1 and Raid 0 that would be a big help also!

raid 0 - data striping (splits info over two hard drives) faster, but more likely to lose info (because if either fails, you're out of luck) - so have a external hard drive or something handy

raid 1 - mirroring (saves same info over two hard drives) more data security because even if one hard drive fails, you have the other one as backup already

raid 5 - data striping and parity (I think)... - well, this one is kinda a combination of raid 0 and raid 1. It uses two hard drives for data striping and the other as a backup (someone correct me if i'm wrong), so two hard drives have to fail before you lose the data

If you can afford it, get the SSD's.

If you can afford it but need more space, get 2 SSD's and 1 320GB SATA.

what is the overall differnce with the SSD vs SATA? Also now that I have a better understanding of the raid differences which do you think makes most sense?

    Here's my option

2 - 64G SSD's in RAID 0 for O/S & Programs, & order over the web a speedy mechanical drive (like a Seagate 7200.3 next gen) 200G or larger based on your data file needs.

Install the data drive yourself after you get the box from Xotic, and leave that drive out of the RAID 0 configuration
