hi, i just bought a clevo m570tu and installed windows vista x64 sp1...i've installed pretty much every single stock driver that came in the cd...and i'm getting weird reboots doing all sorts of tasks...gaming, downloading stuff...browsing...it's not blue-screen reboots...it just restarts the whole computer without any warning....anyone with the same situation?
thanks in advance
if someone wants more information about my laptop, i'll post it as soon as someone needs it.

Try updating your drivers? Maybe the laptop goes incredible warm?
-
Are there any errors, warnings, or information log entries showing up in your event logs that look relevant?
-
nope the laptop doesn't get warm....
i have a few errors in windows logs-> system...
like
event id 15016
Unable to initialize the security package Kerberos for server side authentication. The data field contains the error number.
i also have a few windows search errors...but i doubt that's the problem...i have updated drivers...but it's a weird thing...normally drivers give a blue screen when something goes bad...it just doesn't restart my system without telling me...something really weird is going on...some more feedback would be nice. thanks everyone for replying -
How's your A/C adapter and your battery, and how well does the A/C adapter plug stay plugged into the back of the computer? It's possible that you're having problems with getting adequate power into the system, which might be triggering these reboots.

i was using it without battery...but i've placed it now...will it be useful if i post some of my last errors?

yeah, it's still showing the same symptoms...i've tried reinstalling vista and it even rebooted while expanding files in vista instalation...bios was in ahci mode...then i switched to ide mode...and i installed vista...but as soon as the installation was complete...it rebooted again...could it be some hardware problem? should i test the ram?
thanks a lot -
Well, in certain respects it sounds like a possible problem with the power circuitry - the constant shutting down might be the result of temporary, significant drops in the power reaching the motherboard, which might trigger the shutdown mechanism for low power.

had that same sort of issue with my gateway a while back, but it only happen while on battery. if the voltage dropped below 10.8 the laptop would shut off with out warning.
i would try one memory module at a time, if you already have the os loaded. and if it still does it, you can try a separate hard drive.
these are just a few things you can try before having to do the dreaded...send it in for repairs.... -

RAM is the first component I check when I start having seemingly random problems. -
since the laptop arrived less than a week ago, i'm sending it back, still it's not the ram (2 passes, no errors) or the hdd (no errors) and i've tried like 5 different os's just to make sure it wasn't a problem with drivers or something but when the computer just restarted when i was installing windows, it became pretty clear to me it's HW related. i've even updated the bios to the latest version available (1.0.09/EC 1.0.08) which is supposed to fix a problem where the computer shuts down because it gets a wrong signal from the fans. it's exactly the same so it didn't fix nothing for me...that's why i'm sending it back.
if it's gonna take more than a week to repair i'm asking for a new one.
thanks a lot to everyone for replying u've been helpful. -
I'm liking this addition in 1.00.08 bios:
hard reboots
