I have a problem with the 'a' and 'z' keys. z keys i dont really mind but the a key is one of the wasd keys which i use a lot. the problem with them is that they kind of make a 'rustling' sound when i press them instead of a firm tap, and if i press harder it makes a sharp click sound that doesnt seem very healthy. most importantly, its unresponsive on the left side.

so id like to open up the keyboard and take a look. I saw some keyboard opening guides but most of them were about accessing the RAM dimms and not opening up the keyboard themselves. can the keyboard be disassembled without too much hassle? and maybe some advice to watch out for as ive never opened up a computer before :( thanks

There really isn't much you can do to "open up" the keyboard. The keys simply pop into place on the keyboard frame. You can remove the keyboard itself, but there just isn't much to it. If you do remove the keyboard, be mindful of the ribbon cable as it's quite fragile.

ok so ive opened it and took a look, and you're right. looks like the whole keyboard is just a single part.

uhm, I know this may sounds ridiculous. but the key really is driving me crazy. i mean why the A key!!?? arguably the most used vowel when typing and one of the wasd control keys. is there any way to get just a replacement keyboard? is it trouble to replace one?

Very easy to replace. Just pop both tabs up on the edge of the ribbon cable, pull out keyboard, put a new one in and push down the tabs again.

Talk to a reseller such as malibal above to get a replacement.
