im trying to install a new driver from nvidia for my sli 480m, but the thing is the downloaded software (260.99) 160mb size, can't find my graphic driver, i have the stock driver 259.51, and my system is windows 7 ultimate 64 bit, i'am pretty sure that the info needed by nvidia for driver specifications are what system i have. the language is US (i have the international version with reference to my stock driver) and Win7 64bit and made sure that 480m is the one i selected. do i need to clean install my stock driver first before installing this 260.99?

I have heard people having issues trying to do a clean install. Installing over the current version keeps dependencies in place. I have also heard that you need to install from Sager's site not Nvidia's. In the somewhat recent posts on the 5135 owners lounge there are several posts about how to install the new drivers. Post #2140 lists directions though they are for the 425M, but some of the info may help. Sorry I could not help more, but it may give you a place to start.

Try the laptopvideo2go modded drivers, the inf are much more complete and likely to find your card. The reason the official drivers are not finding your card is likely simply that the included inf codes vary slightly compared to those reported by your cards.

Including the corrected IDs in the right places, which the laptopvideo2go inf usually does, should sort this.

thanks guys, much appreciated for the reply.

i saw the laptopvideo2go websites and most of the comments were not good when they tried to update their drivers, they have BSOD.

but thanks that's a good head start.

to Calbear and Alex +1 rep to you guys, thanks.
