I need to buy a laptop, and I like both of these.
can anyone tell me which is better for gaming/3d rendering/future upgrades?

    http://www.xoticpc.com/msi-gt725074-p-2551.html?wconfigure=yes

they have different video cards, but notebookcheck.com lists the ATI higher than the NVIDIA one.
but the NVIDIA has higher 3dmark 06 score.
so i dont understand which is better for gaming and rendering 3d models.

the memory for msi is ddr2, and memory for sager is ddr3.

the msi comes with windows vista, and sager lets me choose 'no OS'.

which is better for me to buy?
their weight is about the same, even though the screen size is different.
and the msi battery is 2hours+ and sager is 1-2 hours.

i feel like msi is cheaper and better option, but i seem like im limiting myself somehow...

The only reason you should get the np8660 is because it is 15.4", if you don't mind carrying around a 17" laptop then definitely go for the MSI.

Sager NP8660 is 15" so it is smaller and lighter than the MSI which is 17".
MSI has the ATI 4850 GPU so that is slightly more powerful than the 9800 GTS of the Sager.

In my experience as well, MSIs are made terribly strong. I have friends who regularly complain about their MSI and being in for service. None of my friends have that particular model but that is my personal brand image.
Also I went to the shop and saw another MSI laptop that has the same size and look and I again personally find it ugly. Where as I consider the Sager is be sleek and pretty.
I do consider this also important because I have to take it to uni, work and for all sorts of presentations.

Again, a lot of that is my personal opinion but there you have it :p
