i loved it but it just was way to big and has way to short battery life for me. i have a killer desktop so i didnt need a desktop replacement, i want something i can grab an take with me when im on the run. i am considering the 860 but im not sure if maybe i should wait for something else to come along in the near future since the i7's were released im wondering whats right aroun the corner for them.
i was also considering the ocx whitebook but its just as big as the 1730 was and just not practical for me to take on the go especially for business.
also considering the cheaper msi 1651 but it "only" has a 9600 gt in it and may be upgradable but no one knows for sure yet.
i wish ocz had a better 15" out. with so many mixed feelings on the 8660 and the reports of bad screens im def torn on that fence...that msi would be sweet with a 9800 in it imo.
so why should i or should i not consider the 8660?? and it would be barebones of course since i have a boatload of parts sitting here..lol
i do wish the 8660 had dual hdd's in it.. that would be sweet

upcoming Clevo M98xNU or Clevo D900 refresh model....
-
lol im sure they will be just as big as the dell or larger....otherwise id be all over them...
-
true true.
the leaked M98xNU has 18.4" screen... but somehow looks thinner than D901C... although its much wider.

In any case, why not just go for the Arima W840 DI .... I thought you sold you M1730 for that.
its not significantly thinner in than the Clevo D901C or your previous M1730.... but its quite bang for the buck with quad-core support. -
i was thinking about it but i just didnt think about the size of it. i thought it was for some reason smaller than it is.. its pretty much just as big as the dell. though it does have better battery life.. tough choice

are you looking for a dual videocard notebook?
if so, then you cannot escape the size factor (they are all about the same)
if you can live with a single videocard rig, then you can have a better choice of notebooks that are thinner. -
yeah i know. of course id like a dual card notebook for the gpu power. but im not sure ill ever really "need" it. i mean my desktop has dual 4870x2's in it... though a dual setup would be sweet i hate decisions like this

I dont know about you, but if I were to replace my D900K at this moment, I want:
- probably 17" WUXGA (can't go back now)
- at least quad-core (since I already have a high-end dual core rig)
- at least high-end interchangeable videocard (dont really care if its SLI/Crossfire, since not all games fully utilize it)
- at least 2-3 internal HDDs
- a bad-@ss cooling system
- no lights or flashy crap, I like my notebook being professionally streamline and unbranded.
hmmm sold the 1730 now what do i buy??
