When you right click the hotkey application icon in the right side of the taskbar, you can see "power conservation modes". What does that do with the system? My Win7 settings is set to "high performance" but when I right click the hotkey icon and go to power conservation modes, it is indicated "power conservation modes" under "system state".

    Can anyone confirm? Thanks.

Resurrecting this thread again as I have the same question.

These three settings do not correlate with the Windows 7 power plans.

SpeedStep for example is controlled by the minimum/maximum CPU speed setting in a power plan, setting both to 100% causes the CPU to stay at the highest multiplier, etc.
TurboBoost is managed in hardware by the CPU.
PowerPlay doesn't work for the GPU anyway because of the VBIOS problem, it doesn't change clockrates automatically.

So do these settings have any effect? If I change them, the process PowerBiosServer.exe that got installed with the hotkey utility uses some cycles, but I can't see any effect.

On my np5125 the hotkey application has implications with Optimus, as optimus - to my knowledge - will not work on my "energy star" setting.

Also.......I think the hotkey application creates a dynamic windows power plan called powerlife. I think their intention was to have the user leave the windows power plan on powerlife and change power states using the hotkey application. Just my two cents but I'd appreciate anyone confirming.

Also, if there are any resources on the web that could shed some light on this program, that'd marvelous!!!
