How hot (Celsius) are we talking? When it's open and how hot after you terminate it?

60 Celsius while idling? That's too high, if so.

80 degrees is safe, but 20 degrees difference between it running or being closed doesn't sound right. Which version are you running?

Try uninstalling Control Center and reinstalling it, if you haven't - or run the uninstaller from the Windows Control Panel and select the "Repair" option.

But if you're seeing 60 Celsius at idle, something else is wrong. Which model laptop do you have?

Yes, the idle temperature is about 55~65 although reapplied new thermal paste.

You might need to check your heatsink; seating, thermal pads, paste spread, damages to the pipes, etc. Even an excess of background applications shouldn't get it quite that hot during idle.

Check for anything that could be obstructing airflow too. Some models have plastic flaps on the fan/heatsink. Don't have a pic but it's supposed to cover any gap between the cpu fan and the heatsink fin bank. if it is somehow between them it can cause problems.

Your image links are broken but don't remove them unless they are sitting in the path of the direct airflow to the fins.

Can't see pics, but don't remove it, just make sure that it's not shoved down between the fan and fins, it should sit on "top" and be outside the airflow.
