I bought a np8170. It always overheated extra. I spilled soup on it but looked at the insides carefully and no soup hit the motherboard. However it will not start. I don't want them to fix it and send me a new defectively engineered laptop. I want my money back. I read somewhere that under certain circumstances they do refunds. So what do i need to say or do to get this refund?

You spilled soup on it. Why in the world should Sager replace your laptop? If it always overheated than you should of had them fix it. Now you are going to try to use that as an excuse for them to give you a refund after you spilled soup on it. Wow.

I'm pretty sure spilling soup in there voids the warranty :)

I'd suggest you talk nicely to them and get the laptop repaired, pay for the parts but see if they can cover the labor since it was overheating (if you have a record of the overheating logged with them).

You were pretty clear, in your other thread, that spilling the soup caused the problem. It did not stop turning on, until the soup was spilled into it. You even saud it smelled shorted out or burned out when you opened it.

Also, the motherboard is directly under the keyboard, with no barrier. It's impossible to avoid liquid getting through to the motherboard, if it's spilled on the open machine.

I tried to help you out, but now you're trying to pull a straight up con move.

I don't know how old you are, but it's time to do what a man does. Take responsibility.

Was it at least a cold soup, like, gazpacho? Because a warm soup would definitely NOT help the overheating problem.

He hasn't posted any pictures or real proof, so he could be trolling, I suppose. There's not much to lose by assuming that he's telling the truth, though - if he is a troll, he's not a good one.

No use crying over spilled <s>soup</s> milk. You killed the laptop and now you want to try and use a story to RMA it? That's called fraud. If one of the resellers wants to help you out in repairing your laptop or giving you tips on cleaning it, take it to the PM system please. Since you have clearly demonstrated a willingness to commit fraud this thread is closed.
