i want to archive my old home vhs videos so i will be connecting the vhs player into the laptop through s-video to capture that way. i also need a way to capture the stereo audio as well. does anyone have a quick explenation on how i can do this with the stereo L and R rca cables from the vhs player to laptop? i am guessing i will need a converter and plug that into one of the audio ports..

The_Observer 9262 is the best:)
Isnt there a line in front of the laptop?

Yes, you just need a cable with 2 rca plugs on one side and a 3.5mm stereo plug one the other. I think you can get one for about 5$
Then plug it in the line in
I've had some problems doing the same myself cause the sound gets in faster than the picture, due to the converting.
Causing it to unsync.
Chris tv pro solved this. Or you can edit afterwards in premiere pro
Good luck -
yeah i went out and bought a stereo rca to 1/8" adapter. what i did not anticpate was that the vcr did not have an s-video out and an RF out instead. it worked out better this way since the RF also caries sound so only needed one wire afterall.
i forgot that the built-in tv tuner does not have a composite rca jack for video input which threw me off. my older 9860 sager's built-in tv tuner had this.
how do you add audio to the np9262?
