i got a w870cu with a couple of dead and stuck pixels, i fit for the replacement for sure, since the laptop was purchased in october 09, was just wondering what the experience is like with them. has rma been strenuous or breeze with out hassle? i take it you have to ship out the whole laptop at your expense, how long did it take to get it back?

yes thats what i stated i have over 5 pixels stuck and dead and i'm under warranty so? what don't you understand.

i'm inquiring as to how the process is to people who rma'ed, thats what the warranty is there for, to exercise on the promise of the company to make good in case of defect with merchandise which cost alot of money and can defect due to poor manufacturing somewhere along the company or whatever.

i think it is assumed that when he said he was sure to fit for a replacement, he meant more than 5 dead pixels.

No need to be rude. I read your post that stated you had a couple of stuck and dead pixels. That equals four; not five dead pixels. :p I was curious if the dead pixels were located in what is called "none centered" which is very vague as to what constitutes centered of the screen.

Also I had a question if the dead pixels occur later during a 2 or 3 year warranty, that Sager would replace the screen or is there an time limit on the screen? Maybe only the first year?

Either XoticPC can initiate the return or you can contact Sager. Either way, you will be shipping at your expense the laptop directly to Sager for repairs is my understanding.

I am sure other forum members can provide their experiences with XoticPC RMA process or if it is better to just contact Sager directly.

i´ve had some rma´s with my old lemon laptop. is your desicion if you want to contac sager or xoticpc, anyway all rma go to sager. xoticpc helps setting up the rma with sager and all the questions you have, xoticpc is going to ask sager and then answer you.

i sent my laptop like 3 times to sager and personally i preffered to deal with sager directly because i could talk with the tech that was fixing my laptop.

The pixel policy dictates the center of the screen as being exactly 1/9 of the screen - split the screen into 9 equal regtangles, if there are any dead/stuck pixels in the center section then that is a warranty issue (or at least it is when new - not necessarily later on but do read your warranty)

wasn't trying to be rude, yes it's in the center thats why it's bugging me so much.

I also have another question i heard about RGB for sager laptops or some kind of upgrades is this panel as high as it goes or is there something out there aftermarket or whatever, that might be worth getting.

We can get our hands on a 17.3" Glossy 95% color gamut LCD that should be a straight swap in. Or we can get a 17.3" matte 72% color gamut LCD that should also be a straight swap in. Just PM me if you want more info.

Sorry to hear about the dead pixels :(

Our RMA service is excellent, as mentioned the warranty does require 5 bad pixels or one in the center. If you'd like email our service department and we can get you a test image to see if it falls in the center part of the screen.

You mentioned you got it in Oct 09. The standard warranty is 1yr parts 3yrs labor unless you upgraded your warranty when you made the purchase. We'd be happy to look into this for you.

Send me a PM or email me directly and I'll be happy to help get the process started.

Indeed! And for further reference, a 'few' is three or four and a 'handful' is five...

A couple is certainly not three or more ;)

    Sometimes people unintentionally misuse words.

I blame the public school systems.
