    6700K no question.

One of the best and unique features of this laptop is the ability to add in that desktop CPU and you wanna miss it??

Additionally, more games these days can benefit from more cores and so does video rendering.

There is no question here really, the 6700K, more cores + higher stock clock speeds.

    1) Regarding the CPU, since you live abroad doesn't change the fact that you get the best right? If a CPU ever went bad which rarely happens since even if you overclock it, it has a thermal shutdown threshold which means after a certain degree of heart, the system would shutdown to protect the CPU. But putting that aside, whethere you went for the higher end CPU or that lower end one, if you had to do any warranty clai you sill have to ship it back to where you bought it so it's the same. Go for the best one from the start.

    2) Regarding the GPU, 980M is not enough if you want to play everything at 60FPS and above @ a 1920x1080 resolution. Either go for the Desktop 980 (without the M suffix) or better yet, for the 980M SLI which desroys everything out there when it comes to laptop GPU performance.

    3) I suggest you do like me an order the laptop from HIDevolution. They ship internationally and their warranty covers the shipping costs 2 times per year. That is very generous if you ask me. 2 times per year, unless someone is really unlucky, they wouldn't ever need to ship the laptop 2 times per year for service but at least the option is there.

I ordered a 3 year warranty with my Clevo P870DM-G which includes a 2 times per year shipping cost coverage from wherever I am to HIDevolution. That cost me an additional $600 USD but for the beast I ordered, it gives me the piece of mind.

Actually in games, clock for clock, they will perform about the same in most titles, both are quad core CPUs with the same amount of cache, it's just hyper threading that's disabled on the I5 and while that can help in many tasks such as video editing, in gaming it does not help due to the nature of the work load.

    It's all about money.

If you have no problem buying the i7, get it.

If your budget is a bit tighter, the i5 is more appealing. As mentioned above, the Skylake i5 is a quad-core CPU, just without hyperthreading. In most tasks and games, it will perform the same as a similarly-clocked i7.

A GTX980M is plenty for almost all modern games at 1080p - its 4k gaming where it isn't typically enough.

If you are on the fence now, just remember it is cheaper to just upgrade it now, instead of buying a new processor outright in the future. I'd agree you won't see much difference in gaming, but if you think you might be doing more modeling and rendering in the future, you might want to have the 6700k.

That is not correct. I've been using it on Windows 10 for more than 3 months. A lot of people don't even know how to uninstall the previous driver using Display Driver Uninstaller and just install a new driver over the top, often leading to lots of errors. If you install the drivers the right way, you have nothing to worry about.

Not saying that nVIDIA Drivers have been stable lately, ever since version 347.88, they kept releasing one buggy driver after another. It's not Windows 10's fault. Blame the nVIDIA muppets who are developing or shall I say messing these drivers up.

Ya you shouldn't see any issues using either the I5 or the I7. However when you are looking at a high end laptop, i'd say go with the I7 as it could give you more support down the road which is important to consider when spending so much. For your tasks and what's available right now you likely wouldn't notice a difference from either however.

Yeah, if you have the budget for it, go for the 6700K. Both are good chips, really, but i7 is bound to treat you better.

I would step down to an I5 if it meant the difference between a larger SSD or not, it's nice to have but should not be the priority for a gamer by any means.
