    Thanks, i_pk_pjers_i.

I bought an Eurocom laptop knowing full well that they are Clevo. In fact, it was one of the reason I went to Eurocom, as it is the reseller that has the best prices in Canada (by far!) for any given configuration. And I LOVE my laptop... except that this issue is literally driving me nuts. I would still prefer an official solution from Eurocom though, but if I have no other choice, I guess I'll have to turn to Prema's BIOS. I flashed BIOS before on various PCs, but I admit there is always that "what if something goes wrong?" thought going through my head every time. And in that case, since Prema's BIOS isn't an official one, if something happens, I'm pretty sure this would void my warranty, you know... and be left with a very pricey brick.

Anyway... I'm still waiting for the Eurocom guy to get back to me since my last communication yesterday. We'll see where this goes. I admit I'm not fond of waiting forever for this to get fixed.

Well, if something went wrong, you could always get them to repair it out of warranty, and they would only replace the motherboard. That would be about $300-400, it's not like you would need to buy a whole new laptop. According to Eurocom, as long as you flash the BIOS properly and nothing goes wrong, your warranty is still active and not void.

The chances of it going wrong are very unlikely. Here's a guide if you do decide that you want Prema mod:

Agreed... I was very scared about doing this.. Literally you put the BIOS on a Bootable USB stick, boot from stick, press step 1 and then step 2 and BIOS is flashed... At least for the P771ZM... Might be different for this but doubt it.. just follow the readme file before doing anything..

Well, just got news from Eurocom. The tech basically said to me "Sorry, we can't do anything for you right now", asking me to contact them in a couple of weeks to see if they have a fix. It is quite frustrating because I got awesome service with pre-order questions and during the whole ordering process. But now, I don't feel like I'm getting great service anymore. Not only I didn't get the laptop I ordered (I ordered an i7-4720HQ, not an i7-5700HQ), now I'm stuck with a buggy laptop and the manufacturer saying "sorry bro, can't do nothing for ya". I feel kind of cheated. Spent good money on this, and now that they have my money, it looks like they don't really want to help. Granted, they're probably waiting for clevo to update the BIOS for them, but still.... They could just tell us that they're working on it. Saying "New laptops and new software often have bugs, we're sorry" wasn't what I wanted to read in a support reply.

Has anyone else with a clevo-based laptop on broadwell got an updated BIOS from their manufacturer? I'm currently on BIOS 1.05.04 and EC on 1.05.02.

I'm seriously thinking about using Prema's BIOS update. Anyone tried it on an Eurocom M5 Pro? (I know all clevo-based models share the same innards, but still...)

    ---- UPDATE ---
Just got a message from Eurocom on Facebook that a new BIOS has been supplied to them. Told me to get in touch with my contact at Eurocom support to get help installing the updated BIOS. Will see how that goes.

So, I don't know if my messages to Eurocom and their tech support were a factor in this (probably not, I think it is more a happy coincidence than anything, but I like to think I have that kind of power, lol!) but yesterday, they sent me a BIOS update (1.05.05), saying they just got their hands on it. And after applying it, no more BSODs in Office 2016. Everything seems to work as it should now. My Eurocom M5 Pro (i7-5700HQ), now work as it should.

I don't know if other clevo resellers had this update since some time or not, but I guess it either means that "official" BIOS update will come soon from all other resellers if it hasn't already, or it means, if the update was already available from other manufacturers, that Eurocom may be a bit slower in releasing "official" BIOS updates once clevo releases them.

Anyway, works like a charm now (so far, so good!).

@Realnoize glad to hear that you have it resolved now. As we discussed previously, 1.05.05 has been out for a while now and it solved all the problems that our customers reported to us directly. Perhaps the changelog notes that some companies received didn't clearly enough explain the specific fix that this new BIOS gave - rather it may have detailed the change but not the effect. Just one possible explination why one company may know that .05 fixes the solution and another may not.

Reviving an old thread. I have the P651SE with i7 5700HQ and GTX 970M. I run Ubuntu 14.04 with UEFI disabled. I had been facing a random freezing problem ever since I started using this laptop in December, but there was no way I could get any reason for the freeze from the log files, until I recently installed the mcelog and got this error log.

Does it relates to BSOD / office16 error on windows? If so, which BIOS from the God shall I use?

    ------------- Update --------------
I went ahead and installed the PremaMod BIOS. No freezing till now after 12 hours of uptime. Hopefully, the problem is solved. Will report back otherwise. @Prema, thanks.. You are awesome.
