i have a choice of the t9600 or t9800 right now. with the t9800 being just abolut 90$ more than the t9600. both are final c0 es samples but they are perfect being qs samples not b1 stepping.
is the t9600 enough or should i sprig for the t9800. with the t9800 approaching the x9100 speeds im a bit worried about battery life i know the x9100 is a huge hog.. i do want at least a bit of portability out of this.
i can also get the p9600 as well but at the same cost of the t9600 and the p9600 is only 2.6 where the t9600 is 2.8 so i think i at least want the t9600 or better..
need fast answer what should i do the guy only has one of each i know him but i also know he will list on ebay if i dont grab one asap. thanks
love my 1730 but i need something a bit more portable for when i want to travel with it i know the 860 is not small but its far better than the 1730 to take with me.

I always say go big if it's in your budget. I'll have a final sample T9800 soon myself hopefully. Isn't QJFL the final chip?
The T9600/9800 will both hog more battery life, but I don't see 2.93 taxing much more than 2.80. -
worth 100$ more though?? for the .13 increase..
-
yes QJFL is final es
-
No I wouldn't pay $100 for the .13 jump over the 9600, but then again I think the prices you've been quoted are way less than what I have to pay. If their both less than $375, I'd just get the t9800 because it's a deal either way.
Your t9800 deal is around $340? -
309$ for the t9800 and 227$ for the t9600 thats why im torn the t9600 i can get is a retail chip not a es sample and look how cheap it is. im just not sure i should pass up 227$ for a t9700 thats so cheap. i know the guy thats why im getting them so cheap and no cashback to wait for either which is sweet
-
$309 for the QJFL t9800 is saving you $100-150, but, jeez a retail t9600 goes for $570. I'd probably take that one just because it's such a great deal.
Unless that extra step towards 3Ghz is really important to you. -
If any of you guys get these processors, could you please do the task of burning a divx movie to DVD, I want to see how long it takes to encode and burn on these processors and if an upgrade would be worth it.
Right now my p9500 rivals a quad core desktop in this task. Perhaps because convertXtoDVD is not optimized for quad yet? -
they really are the same thing though with the t9800 being a qs sample it shows the name and temps and everything just like a retail chip would... im just trying to justify the near 100$ more for the .13 increase..the t9600 is open box but it is a retail chip he doesnt have the box but i checked the chips code and it is a retail release "slb47" so its def a final release being a sl chip
-
Well then I'll try to justify it for you; keep in mind that the T9800 will probably hit retail somewhere north of $600, and you'll never see one this cheap again. Remove the T9600 from the table completely, then ask yourself, "Is $309 a good deal on a T9800?" Of course it is. You're basically being offered both processors at $300+ rebates, so you're saving an enormous amount either way you go. $309 would be a good deal on the 9600, so that makes it an even better deal on the 9800. When the T9800 hits newegg for $700, will you feel good about passing on it?
-
yeah I REALLY want the 9800.. i was trying to work within a set amount of $$ with this build and this puts me well over what i was hoping for.. arghh
im considering the 860 need some thoughts from you guys
