Hi guys, I just got my machine from germany from Cybersystem but I ordered it without an installation so it´s all clean.

I have a xp 64 bit version that I tried to install but it wont complete the installation. It just loads all the ddl files and all drivers for the installtion and then it reboots. I tried the cd on my friends computer and it works jsut fine, it loads everything and proceeds with the installation but not on my laptop.

Im really excited to get this thing going so I can try it out, Ive been lurking and reading alot about this one, wanna see what my temps are and so forth. But do guys have any ideas what the problem can be or suggestions on what do to?

I cant even get to the BIOS settings cause the first thing that loads is the logo and press F2 for system utilities I think, anyone else can confirm this? Im siting in school and the laptop is at home, since I dont have any computer with internet at home : )

    thanks guys.

It is F2 for my M860TU, but you might need to hit it pretty fast if the logo loads.

yeah it says f2 on mine aswell but it never loads even if I hold it imidiatly after starting the computer.

But I wanna know if my understanding of the windows xp 64 bit is correct, since I figured it was an anwser I could have searched for myself.

Is it so that windows xp 64 just isnt supported by the clevo m860tu, Cause I tried googling the anwser and searching on this forum but I never got a straight anwser, just directions that might indicate to the fact.

If anyone could please confirm this or enlighten the matter for me it would help me alot

    Is it a SP1, SP2, or SP3 XP 64 Disc?

In the BIOS, make sure that 'XP' is selected as the installed OS under the advanced tab. Failing that you can slipstream sp2 or sp3. That should increase the chances of it working.

hmm no that didnt work either , tried to change it to winXP but the same thing happened, is it because the version that I have doesnt include the service pack? So if I buy xp 64 with service pack 3, will it work?
