When do yo think we will see quad core montevina CPU's from Intel for notebooks.
-
-
ETA 8/15 according to vendors.
-
will they be as powerful as the quads in the 9262?
-
No. It's not really a fair comparison, the quads in the NP9262 are desktop quads, the notebook quads will, quite obviously, be notebook quads, with tighter power controls, and whatnot.
-
They should be and the power consumption will be lower with a higher FSB
-
one say yes one say no....................anyone else care to weigh in?
-
equal to a q6600 and a q6700 weaker than a q9450 and a q9550
-
Anyone know TDP? Less than 40W?
-
Same FSB speed my friend. THey will run at 1066.
Most quads run at 333, or 1333 effective these days.
I believe the 12mb L2 cache is useless for comparison but it will have roughly 45W TDW> My qx9650 has about 135 so don't expect super numbers but I'd say this will own the baby-q9300
-
So we will be seeing these in sagers around the middle of August?
-
-
So not in the M860TU.
-
nope, the quads consume too much for the 860tu and the heat is too great
-
the quad core will come with a pirce of 1 grand. i could purchase a decent laptop with that money.
-
yea 1 grand is really too steep and this is first generation quad core for notebook. It is always not a good idea to be the early adopter unless u got the $$$ to do it. Best wait for next line of intel mobile quad cores in upcoming years.
