I emailed him before about the availability of laptops from XoticPC worldwide, and I would wholeheartedly recommend him. Seems to be a very nice person.

Yah I went with PcTorque on my purchase due to some kind of validation problem with my bank card on Xotic's end, but was happy when Justin himself was responding to my emails by the next business day. He is a dedicated owner, and really looks out for the small time consumers, unlike some people..*cough* Mark Bialic *cough*

There is not enough room in the 18.4" SAGER NP9850 Built on Clevo M980NU to squeeze in the D900F Mobo?

Is it a not enough room height wise.. the D900F seems taller if that makes any sense?

and if it can not be done.. do you have any good inside info for when a real i7 laptop will have an sli / crossfire option? near future.. or never now that the mobile i7's are here?

Thanks for the responce Justin and TIA for any steerage for the upcoming (if at all) sli / crossfire in a laptop..

    Be well, JW

Unfortunately with laptops, the chassis' are not a standard design. The laptop internals are different for each model, hence a D900F mobo will not fit in an M980NU chassis due to it not being designed for it - everything would be in the wrong place, vents/fans wouldn't line up, neither would connectors, screws or anything else.

The reason the D900F does not have sli/crossfire is due to power/heat limitations. The D900 series power supply is already 220W, adding another gfx card would increase that by 75W and the power brick is bricky enough already...

The only time you will see any chance of i7 paired with sli/xfire is when the i7 refresh comes out with lower power chips, then there might be enough spare power to take another gfx card. And that's if clevo think it's worth designing another whole new laptop to take it.

Thanks Riko.. I was playing with the idea earlier.. but I was set straight with regard to the fact the dollars involved where not justified..

I would like to see a real i7 with sli or cross fire with a dual screen.. but I also would Like Santa to bring it to me.. both seem un-likely..

But thanks for the response Riko.

    Be well, JW

the guy I delt with when purchasing my Sager at XoticPC is Joseph Lee

I've never been more satisfied from a company's customer service in my life. Joseph is a very knowledgeable, polite, dedicated person, he answers all questions to the best of his knowledge.

So a big thumbs up for XoticPC and their staff.
