I was ordering a 17" Clevo and I wanted to know if the 72% gamut matte screen is a worthwhile upgrade over the conventional matte screen? My primary use is gaming, internet, some photo editing, MS Office. I'm almost thinking I should save the money and buy a nice 24" external monitor if I need it.
Lastly, are the "Steelseries" Chiclet keyboards worth another $100? What advantage do they offer aside from a more tactile feel? Am I better off spending the extra $100 on a faster processor or an extra HD?

No help for your topic, but a side question - where can you still get the steelseries for the clevos? I was under the impression the resellers had to stop offering that....

It will enhance the picture display in some of the games.
Please be aware that "Steel Series" keyboard is a registered for MSI laptops only. Clevo's P170EM does come with backlit keyboard.
I would recommend to spend more money on processor because of gaming and photo editing. -
that is electrically compatible with these laptops

The matte 72% screen is great for gaming. It has great vibrancy and contrast and is very bright

For gaming you dont see as much of a benefit from a wider gamut but for everything else you plan on doing especially photo editing it will help. I highly do recommend that screen, and you'll see why once you get it.
is the 17" matte 72% gamut screen worth $175 for gaming?
