was that, "yes" you know whether or not they're the same (i.e., a statement about the content of your knowledge), or was that "yes" they are the same card (i.e., the contents of your knowledge)? :D

It`s not an expensive part though.

MXM-IV cards are the same.... just the heatsink/fan is different for use in a D900C or M570RU

@ZF - as Gophn said, in order to put the 5793 8800GTX in a 9262 you'd need a new HSF (HeatSink & Fan assembly) as well as the SLI cable

YOU CANNOT USE THE 8800gtx from the 5793 in the 9262.. the module will plug in but the parts like the bracket to make it actually fit ARE NOT SOLD SEPARATELY ... just so those that are curious are aware, sager says no can do and no way since they dont even have the parts to make it work at sager. so this sucks now i seriously wish i would have bought the dell from hawk

    Also, try Eurocom.

Thats why I posted that Ice-T had had problems from a few months ago trying to make them fit. They should be the same card but he wound up trimming some of the card off to get it to fit and *$*$*$ the card up in the process. Net loss $750 + time.

eleron911 you've been around long enough to know that even if a card is MXM type I, II, III, HE or IV that they are rarely swappable to another notebook even if it also uses the same type of MXM format.

I would highly suggest you guys check out Ice-T's website.

yeah i mean the module is the same .. so im o why would they not simply stock the cards and the brackets separate then add the right bracket to the right notebook when ordered imo it seems ridiculous..

so yeah 3 places now saying the same so i guess its a fact now

So what good does it do having a 8800M GTX for an RU if you can`t use it in a D901C .
    This is totally messed up.
Z, I guess you`ll have to sell your RU with the GTX at a higher cost and get another card ,once again...

So let's put it this way.
RU users with 8800M GTX cards can only sell them to other RU users?
What about D901C users, can they sell the card and make it work in the RU?
I noticed Donald`s back :D, maybe he can fill us in on this...

unless you have a dead 8800 from the other system that you want to replace, in which case you already have the enclosure and heatsink arangement. In this special case you could cross swap the cards fine
