Found this on Notebook Check...
9280 is type B...
Type A is designed for graphic cards with 64 or 128 bit memory interface and should fit in all laptops (small to large). The board measures 82x70mm and has a maxmium TDP of 35 Watt.
Type B is designed for a 256 bit memory interface and large (desktop replacement) notebooks. The boards will measure 82x105mm and can deal with up to 75 Watt TDP.
Both types are electrically compatible (same interface). Thermo-mechanical compatibility is also given (the smaller Type A cards fit and work in slots designed for Type B cards). -
Does that mean the 260m will fit into the 9280? What other GPUs cards are mxm 3.0?

In Clevo machines, there's only the 280M so far. Alienware's new M17x has a 260M, 280M, and a GDDR5 4870 on the way.

the M570TU/ETU and M860TU/ETU can use:
- GTX 260M (MXM 2.x Type III/IV)
- GTX 280M (MXM 2.x Type III/IV)
the new D900F and M980NU will be using:
- GTX 280M (MXM 3.0 Type B)
the MXM 3.0 is very new, only the GTX 280M is available in that format. -
