I have searched quite a bit and other than custom lighting controls for the segment lighting, I haven't found anything, so I assume it's not possible. I just wanted to ask to be sure. (I enjoy per-key lighting for highlighting the important keys to use in different audio and video software, as well as in games.)

I am assuming it is a hardware thing, but I am surprised no one has simply created a replacement keyboard to support it? Perhaps the cabling/interface is insufficient also though, but I'd doubt it, if it's going over USB. Maybe I just haven't found it and someone will have a nice surprise?

This would be for a P870TM1.

The new 17 inch metal chassis thin ones do, the P870 series do not.

Ahh, ok, that is why I was thinking they had them, the other line-up does have it. But that chassis doesn't use the desktop CPUs, right? Or if it does, the cooling is nowhere near the P870 series?

Exactly, the motherboard/keyboard would need a refresh as it would use a different control scheme (3 signals vs 100, it's got to be micro controlled on the keyboard itself with a data interface to the machine).
