pretty good, especially since you get the 9800M GT (~8800M GTX)

That would depend on the original company the original buyer bought from, but generally it is.

Hard drive costs would be anything from 60-80 for a 320 GB 7200. You can go up to the QX9650, but most users stop at the Q9650.

Both the QX9650 and Q9650 are 3.0 Ghz. The difference is that the QX is overclockable. The reason why most users stop at the Q9650 is because the D901C does not allow CPU overclocking.

oh lol im not really sure what CPU overclocking is lol, but would the quad 3.0 be better then the dual 3.2 in this already?

the E8500 in it is already better performing than all the mobile Core 2 Duo's.

it will perform quite well overall.

but if are playing games and using applications that are multi-threaded (like GTA IV, and upcoming games)... a quad-core will do much better.

alright, i mean its only like 300 for teh q9650, and to change the processors would it just be switching them both out? real simple, and the mohter board is compatible with it sence u can get it already right?

changing CPU is like you would on a desktop LGA775 motherboard.

With a single GPU you won't see much difference in most games between the quad and the dual because your system will be (mostly) GPU limited. If, in the future, you upgrade to SLI, the dual actually might often be a tiny bit faster because of its higher speed.

Naturally, if you need capacity for processor-intensive, multi-threaded applications, the quad is a much better choice.
