Pardon the attempt at humor... I have been tracking this processor on a daily basis for more than a month.... have been told or suggested that the major resellers PNB, Xotic, etc will have this available in the 9262 any day now... well anyday now is here and gone... Would appreciate any new predictions when this processor might be available. Trying to get any ongoing news from Clevo is like trying to hem a hog up in a ditch... it's hard to do, especially if you are bowlegged.

Sorry, the hog must have eaten it... the Q9450. Not so much hillbilly as just country. Personally, I have never faced a hog in a ditch, a few possums on occasion, but no hogs, but I have heard tell of such...

I don't now about you, but today isn't just "any" day, it's to-day, so I hardly see how "anyday's" come and gone. :D :D

On the topic of no news - that's just the way Clevo/Sager have always been. If'n yer in such an all-fired rush ta git one, I believe Eurocom's "offering them, as is Kobalt.

In the meantime, the rest of us will wait until Clevo/Sager're sure they've got all the niggling little bugs out, like that so-called 4GB "problem."

Nothing like a good story to keep things stirred up. The real point had to do more with lack of communications from Clevo... what does it hurt to keep us Clevofans informed once a week....

Irrational exuberance, followed by wailing and gnashing of teeth, and much unjustified reseller-abuse - Wall Street ain't got nothin' on computer folk! :D

Also try PC Micro Works ( http://www.pcmicroworks.com/). Not only do they have the q9450, they have an outlet section with discount prices. You can get a 9262 (the Black Hawk XR5 Quad) with a q9450, 8800's in SLI, twin 7200's in RAID 0 (or 1), 4GB of RAM, and Vista Ultimate for $3800

The 4GB problem has been solved and I understand Kobalt, Eurocom, PC MW are shipping them with Bios 16 or 17 which works without any problems at all. As others have said an offical announcement from Clevo comes via Sager in the States.. the rest of the world does it when they test it and it works! Clevo themselves I don't think ever make announcements, after all they don't sell to joe public.. it just appears on their website usually long after anyone else starts selling them.

Now there's just the small problem of getting hold of the CPU's. I know Q9450's are now available in most of Europe.. just the Q9550's people are waiting on.

Cryten's right - there is no 4GB problem and the re-start issue is resolved, completely.

Sorry to dissapoint but I'm not fat and don't really sing but all Clevo resellers have access to the same BIOS etc and I can only assume Sager haven't officially announced support is because of supply issues. They are a big company and it'd be silly for them to announce it before they know they can supply all their resellers with Q9450/Q9550s. That's where companies like us have the advantage - our testing is not tied to Sager and we have much more flexible stock control.

BTW all our customers with BIOS 14 and 16 will get an email with update instructions imminently :)

so neil can you confirm for me that for the 570ru models the bios is the SAME no matter the vendor?? this is a big issue of confusion for many people. i have carefully studied both bios' (clevo and sager) with phoenix editor (which i do know how to use) and other than the boot screen i see 0 differences in them.. dont want to step on toes here and not singling any one company out ether but if i have a 1.00.08 from clevo and one from you, eurocom, and sager am i correct they will be the same minus the logo's??

As far as I'm aware, the 571 BIOS is the same from Sager, Eurocom and Kobalt. However I know that these three companies .08 BIOS is different - they let you up the CPU multi where as Rock's .08 (and some others) don't let you OC. I assume Rock didn't want their customers overclocking an X9000 (READ: making full use of the price of the X9000 and the Extreme chassis) :(

Not a disappointment at all, I'm glad to hear it - besides, I'm assuming that makeup just doesn't work for you. :D Also, I have no doubt, based on your comments as well as on justin@xoticpc's comments, that the substantive problems have been worked out, and, as you say, it's most likely a matter of logistics at this point; nonetheless, I'll wait for that final aria.

what about the clevo direct one? i dont have rock's bios to look at but i know all 4 versions i have all offer the 1,2, and 3x options in the advanced area..

do you offer a bios i could use that has these features open for us. i understand it will not be supported by you or sager or anyone else but for those that want the bios with the oc option and the gpu oc options they would im sure not care a whole lot..lmk and i fully understand if not. (i dont mind if it says kobalt lol ill throw some support your way)

what about the gpu overclocking being blocked??

again just curious and THANK YOU so much for the info
