i've only found general discussion of compatibility and needing a bios update, but i'm wanting to confirm if these either are/aren't compatible and/or if there is support for ivy bridge processors on the w150hrm motherboard yet (via BIOS).

    current setup:
    sager np5165/clevo w150hrm
    sandy bridge i7-2630qm (socket 988b rPGA/32nm)
    intel graphics 3000
    nvidia geforce gt555m

    available parts:
believe they came out of an alienware m18x
    ivy bridge i7-3610qm (socket 988b rPGA/22nm)
    nvidia geforce gtx660m

will the i7-3610qm work on the sandy bridge motherboard, and will the i7-2630qm work in the place of the i7-3610? and will the gt555m swap with the gtx660m? thanks guys.

ivy bridge cpus do not work on sandy bridge mobile platforms, so that upgrade is unfortunately out of the question.

as for the gpu, im not sure if the w150hrm sports an exchangeable mxm type gpu or a soldered/fixed one on the mobo. thats for others to tell u for sure :)

    cheers

The GPU wont work either, no NP51XX support upgrading it.
