The new models are even heavier.
    Backlit keyboard doesn't help either

A 6 pound notebook is very lightweight. Your average 15.6" notebook will weigh in at around 7.5 pounds.

The P150HM weighs in at around that.

    Hey

The W150ER is going to work for you coming in at 5.75lb that will have whatever Ivy Bridge you want with a 650m which is kepler (15.6" Laptop)

Also the W110ER is going to come in at 3lbs and that is also going to have the 650m and whatever non-quad Ivy Bridge you want (11.6" laptop)

So you might have to sacrifice a little speed, but you can get something in at less than 6lbs.

I thought you could put the 3612QM in the W110ER...? Anyway, if you can, it's an 11 inch notebook that is around as powerful as an ASUS G73.

Yea you can get the 35W QM in there, but remember even these days a 2.9GHz Dual-core in gaming is going to do better than a 2.1'ish Quad Core :p

I saw the 3612qm on cpu world that it can turbo boost up to 3.1 on single core, 3.0 on dual cores and 2.8 on quad cores. Will the low TDP of 35W prevent it from boosting to that clock?

The CPU world numbers at best are a little wrong, at worst totally wrong. But remember it won't boost that high for very long, especially on that cooling system.
