i decided that i will purchase a p151hm1 most likely today or tmr.

im not very savy with computers so for those who are,

what programs should i download right after i receive it? cpuid?etc? i want to make sure temp and graphics are all in order, but idk what programs i need to test them.

i also dont want to buy an antivirus prog every year so are there are good and safe programs(free) which will protect me well?

what hardware/software components will i have to check to make sure my laptop is topnotch?

LINKS, VIDS, PICS, will be very helpful

as far as free antivirus programs, i've had great success with Avira Antivirus (Free edition) Avira Free Antivirus - Download Best Antivirus Software

during setup, i've always set the security & scanning settings to maximum/highest. the program warns it may find false positives, but i haven't yet encountered anyway and it has saved dozens of friends/family computers by quarantining if not removing viruses that other programs failed to catch.

I'd suggest checking out Ninite - Install or Update Multiple Apps at Once to grab a good list of frequently used software when you get your computer. You can get everything from AV software to various utilities to keep your computer running very well.

Also, after you receive the machine, you can check out the device manager to make sure everything is showing up OK. Malibal (and all the other resellers) have their own QA process though, so that's usually not anything to worry about :)
